Yeah, they had to build a bigger bus just to cover everyone he tossed under there.

Not this one?

I think most die hard Republicans reasonably believe that impeaching Trump will mean also losing the 2020 election.

If Trump is impeached, Pence isn’t coming back for the next four years.

I think Mr. Harwood’s impression is most likely correct. Can Trump seriously think this is going well for him? At the very best, he probably hasn’t lost any/much GOP support yet.

Did … did the Kardashians just get mentioned? Dear God. Down the rabbit hole we go.

Bob Newhart says “Hi”.

Fiona Hill radiates “I Know My Shit – Do Not Fuck With Me.” I look forward to Jordan trying his usual antics.

I love her.

Hard to imagine how excruciating it must be to be a person with any kind of integrity and patriotism, to sit down and be questioned by people who wrap themselves in the national flag but don’t have any qualms about betraying the country they ostensibly serve (i.e., Nunes and the rest).

Is Nunes wearing his mob boss suit again today? He was a mess yesterday, fashion wise.

Super broad striped suit
Pattern on his shirt
Different, busier pattern on his tie.

The worst part of this is knowing that Nunes and Jordan are going to talk.

Goldman is so methodical, calm and professional and I know soon Nunes is going to spout conspiracy theories and then Jordan is going to yell quickly. It’s so fucking annoying.

If Trump is impeached, he won’t he removed from office anyway. Not with this Senate.

My point is that I’m not convinced that these people that think Trump should be removed are also people that will shift their votes away from Trump in 2020. If Trump is the GOP option in 2020, I think they’re going to hold their noses and vote for him anyway, since the alternative is socialism, The Squad, losing tax cuts, letting illegals flood the borders, and gay anti-gun pro-abortion judges.

I’m not watching this (at work) but why is Jay Leno trending on Twitter (seemingly in relation to the hearing)?

Surprisingly Nunes is being seen as positive by Republican peeps around me - mainly because they value style and procedure over substance. Jordan otoh they think is batshit crazy. I’m hearing phrases like “it’s Trump’s fault we’re going to live in a one party state”. Because, this person said, Trump is going to cause the Republicans to lose the senate and then never win it back again.

Whether or not this is accurate it does seem to reflect this “siege” mentality of the GOP today - one step back means the dams break, and partially why they vote GOP no matter what.

If I heard correctly, Leno appeared at an event at Brussels celebrating American Independence Day*, which was attended by Sondland and other people mentioned throughout the impeachment proceedings. I did not hear whether Leno was there in his capacity as a one-time comedian or if he was there to implement a shadow foreign policy on behalf of President Trump. He was probably there to make jokes.

* Though I think Holmes said this was June 4, not July 4?

He isn’t for me. But he was mentioned.
