Yes, my worry too. Aging Trump may decide that a world without him in it is a world that no one else should be alive in either. The guy’s ego is that crazy.

So WaPo is reporting that the ‘no quid pro quo’ call between Sondland and Trump maybe never happened?

Here’s that link (though the Post has been upping their paywall game lately)

Rudy arriving at the White House:

Goodfellas

That’s amusing. You attempt to explain away unlawful behavior with a metaphor that refers to unlawful behavior. I guess that’s the world these people live in – bunch of liars and grifters.

Typically fine sleuthing here from Susan.

Other than Sondland still lying, even on the 3rd try and even while implication Trump - is there a deeper significance to this? We know that even if the “No quid pro quo” call did happen it was after Trump knew that congress knew or would soon know.

Meanwhile, yet another GOP former member of congress claims that there are many who secretly hate Trump. Yawn.

A transition advisor to President Donald Trump wrote in an email weeks before his inauguration that sanctions would make it difficult to ease relations with Russia, “which has just thrown the U.S.A. election to him.” In emails obtained by the New York Times , transition advisor K.T. McFarland sought to coordinate with other members of the Trump transition team in the wake of sanctions intended to punish the Kremlin for interfering in the U.S. presidential election. “If there is a tit-for-tat escalation Trump will have difficulty improving relations with Russia, which has just thrown U.S.A. election to him,” McFarland wrote to Thomas P. Bossert, who currently serves as Trump’s homeland security adviser. Bossert—who forwarded the exchange to future National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, future Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, future senior strategist Stephen Bannon, and future press secretary Sean Spicer, all of whom have since left the administration—urged other transition officials to “defend election legitimacy now.” The White House said McFarland’s email was intended to express the opinion of Democrats, not herself.

Edit: pasted the wrong set of links, my bad.

4th time is the charm.

Next defense? No quid pro quo pro bono.

Could Roberts if it was really bad just declare the senate’s actions to be the Chief Justice’s domain and declare the Senate actions unconstitutional without appeal?

Everything I’ve read says or implies that the Senate could vote to overrule Roberts. I don’t really grasp the procedure for that. I suppose McConnell asks to be recognized and tells Roberts he wants to take a vote.

Anybody have a good summary of the Clinton trial in the Senate, with enough detail to understand the procedure?

Edit: This is a bit helpful:

“Updated his testimony.”

Fucking criminals and traitors, the lot of them.

Ain’t no guillotine dull enough.

Ain’t no firing squad bright enough

Ain’t no rope tight enough

Ain’t no gas choking enough

To keep you from going to hell…

This guy gets it.

That’s over 3 weeks old

And yet.
