I was gonna say, looks like a few missed calls. But then they talked for over 8 minutes. Hmmm, I wonder what about?

Oh jeez these mofos are going to insist on roll call votes for every little thing aren’t they? Such BS.

I feel like - based on not really anything at all - that this next round of hearings will partly undo the efforts of Schiff et al to let the facts speak for themselves without seeming like a partisan attack. The professors feel like impeachment advocates a bit in a potentially off-putting way.

Nice analogy by the current witness re disaster relief.

The witnesses today are basically expert witnesses. They aren’t meant to be neutral to a fault. They are meant to support the opinion of either the defense of plaintiff based on their expertise.

I dunno, I hear them making the point that these facts are what impeachment was designed to deal with.

I’m hoping that after Turley speaks, some Dem member has the presence of mind to use his/her question time to read back to him his opening statement in the Clinton impeachment, then ask him to comment on the contrast.

Only off-putting to those who are already inclined to give Trump a pass. Because he got caught before his solicitation-of-bribery plan bore fruit.

The facts are not in doubt.

I would not be surprised if these witness constantly refer to the already determined facts in their answers, so the facts should still be front and center.

Prepare for republican attempts to cut off answers.

I recently went through a construction case regarding my house. One nice thing in my favor was that even the defense expert had to agree with the general cause of the damage and how extensive the required fix would be.

It will be interesting to see how much the GOP expert case is forced to concede.

And here we go with the “impeachment is too divisive to ever actually use” argument.

Wow, he’s really going to make the argument that corruption and everything else he just rattled off are not impeachable offenses.

Yes, we get it Jon, you are clearly mad.

The witnesses seem to be making a pretty hard core case of, “Yeah, Trump very obviously did impeachable things”.

Turkey’s testimony in the Clinton impeachment:

In my view, President Clinton’s conduct demands an open and deliberative review under the conditions created for that purpose by the Framers. By his own admission, President Clinton has engaged in reprehensible conduct in office. Allegations of criminal acts in office by a president are perhaps the greatest threat to the perceived legitimacy of a government. When there is compelling evidence of criminal acts in the Chief Executive, an entire system of laws is undermined and demands some form corrective action.

In a government of laws, existence of the government will be imperiled if it fails to observe the law scrupulously. Our Government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the Government becomes a lawbreaker; it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy.

The allegations against President Clinton go to the very heart of the legitimacy of his office and the integrity of the political system. As an individual, a president may seek spiritual redemption in the company of friends and family. Constitutional redemption, however, is found only in the company of representatives of all three branches in the well of the Senate. It is there that legitimacy, once recklessly lost, can be regained by a president.

Turley pulling the man for all seasons speech as if the democrats are the ones trouncing the law is actually pissing me off a little. That’s one of my favorite scenes of all time and so hypocritical on so many levels in this case.

And so much in contradiction with his Clinton testimony. He argues there that the way to clear a President’s name is with a trial in the Senate.

This is a style / tone criticism, but the majority counsel is…not good. Nothing wrong with the questions, but his manner will not make great highlights.

Excellent, they are shooting down Turley’s list of things they didn’t specifically write into the constitution so they are not impeachable bullshit.

All the good voice talent was on the intelligence committee.

Sentient autocorrect strikes again?
