Did this guy just say the victim is the President of Ukraine? Does he mean besides the American people? Hmmm.
And again with the “attempted crime isn’t a crime/no harm no foul” defense. Oh and the “Zelensky should have announced to the world how weak he was by admitting that Trump was pressuring him if that happened”*
defense.

*because that’s TOTALLY how international relations work.
The Republicans are just embarrassing themselves. The only smart thing to do is yield all the time to Jim Jordan, and let him continue to spout nonsense.

They’re just playing for soundbites on Fox, and hoping for an attaboy tweet from the toilet.
Yeah, I thought former prosecutor is surprised to learn that victims of extortion are still intimidated by their extorters was pretty much a self-own.

Oh my God, someone mentioned the President’s son! Holy shit, a national tragedy. I’m sure no one could ever find anything from someone on the right actually disparaging the children of a Democratic President.
The vicious line of attack that the President’s son checks notes can’t be appointed Baron by his dad?

I agree with this. It’s plain on the face, but summing it up in one word is difficult. It’s kind of a cognative dissonance and projection combined. It’s an unjustified outrage while knowing the truth. It’s a denial of plain truths and trying to spin it with false platitudes.
It’s a complicated, dangerous thing. How could you possibly call multiple convictions a flop? It’s trying to distort facts by framing them in a certain light.
Prima face it’s called lying. But it’s more nuanced than that. It’s believing in your righteous indignation so much the falsehood becomes something you parrot so often you believe it.
It’s. . . hard to put into one word. I’m not sure we have a word for it. We may have to rely on scifi authors to nail it down. Doublespeak is not bad, but it relies on a cultural context. It’s baffling, is what it is. It’s like they are in their own little world.

OK - I admit it. I actually posted that link because the guy’s twitter handle made me laugh
And here we go:
They’ll draft articles and vote on them. No timeline (officially) for when they’ll be drafted and voted upon, but I think “before Christmas” is still something of the goal.
