I’ve only had the chance to listen on and off, but even though this is not even opening arguements yet and just debate on amendments to the trial procedure resolution, every time I tune in and a Democratic manager is talking they are hammering on some bit of evidence and mostly keeping it relevant to the amendment’s request for testimony or documents. I think they are really working the strategy and time well overall. I hope it matters.

Did you hear how the rules he tried to push at first had the trial as two 12 hour sessions starting at 1pm? It’s an attempt to push things late at night while simultaneously reducing the number of daily news cycles it spans? Looks like members of his own caucus forced him to 3 days of 8 hours earlier today. Complete with hand written last minute edits on the resolution.

Republicans ought to be embarrassed when Trump says out loud that he’s confident he’ll be acquitted because he’s successfully prevented the discovery of evidence against him, but Republicans are shameless and can’t be embarrassed.
