I’m really worried because it’s difficult to unseat a sitting President when the economy is strong. Then if someone like Bernie gets the nomination there will some fear over the economic impact of his policies.
This is certainly true and worrying. On the other hand, he’s almost historically unpopular, and he is unpopular while the economy is strong[*]. So that’s already baked into the numbers to some extent.
[*] Whether the economy is strong really depends on where you’re viewing it from, of course. I imagine there are lots of people, working people, who are not shareholders in any substantial way, and for whom the economy is not particularly strong.
This is…interesting:
Murphy seems to be saying that the call is evidence of wrongdoing but that he can’t divulge it because it has been classified to hide it.
Funny but also scarily true.
Hard to know who I despise more – Graham or McConnell. Probably McConnell. He’s been the cause of more evil and misery, but damned if Graham isn’t such a slimy sycophant.
If Bernie gets the nomination the right wing smear machine will plough him into the much like we have never seen before.
Of course, they will plough anybody into the muck.
Whoever gets the nomination, if they lose, there will be lots of monday morning quarterbacking. If it’s Bernie and he loses, everyone will say they should have gone with Klobuchar or something. Just like everyone says if Bernie had been nominated in 2016 he would have won.

if he loses twice at least we’d stop hearing about it. I still don’t want him to lose though if he wins the nomination.

My disdain lies atop a bottomless well of ire to draw upon. For me, there is no reason to have to decide one or other. They’re both sniveling cowards and traitors.
You mean you have infinite disdain??

Shouldn’t Warren be getting the nomination? She struck me as the most competent candidate.

Nope… they’ll blame moderate democrats and the DNCC for insufficient enthusiasm.
I agree, but there are lots of voters who think that without dangling “bits” you can’t be POTUS.

But she’s so shrill!
In all honesty, she was gaining momentum but made a couple missteps that seemed to take the wind out of her sails. I think it likely cost her the shot at the nomination, but I would never say never. I like her a lot and she’s my wife’s favorite, but I don’t think it’s going to happen.
I wish Bernie would find a nice home to retire to.

Only if Biden goes with him. Given the choice between Bernie or Biden it isn’t even close for me.

We’re trying to figure out who will be running against Pence this year.
Hahaha. Man, I dearly miss what it felt like to have optimism.
