I knew someone from Chapel Hill, NC and it was the only progressive bastion I knew about at the time (early 2000s) – it’s terrible to see a state do it to itself and keep itself down by supporting Trump.

Is there hope for Kentucky?

ahahahahahahahaha

hold, hol–

I just–

ahahahahahaha

This is how I feel about Florida. Maybe this time.

No.

Ouch, Val Demings just murdered the name of a former Ukrainian president a little bit ago. I think she was referring to the guy run out of town in 2014 (Yanukovych).

Mr. Schiff Goes To Washington. Watching Adam Schiff gives me hope for this country.

He did a great job.

Watching NPR afterwards, I am coming to the conclusion that I don’t want anyone trying to interpret things for me. I just want to make my own decision and that is Trump is guilty as hell and needs to be removed.

:/

Yeah, Schiff’s closing statement tonight was amazing, but clearly aimed at the convinceable folks outside of the chamber. Maybe a couple of people within, apart from the Dems, were moved.

Shiny

I get tired of the “nothing new” and “repetitive” things being repeated.

I use a different analogy. It felt like the dems are playing crossword. Yes there is some things that are common - but the angle and approach is completely different.

To me it was an overwhelming amount of evidence from every different angle. This isn’t just a small “thread the needle” type of accusation where it only works with one assumption. They have this from so many different perspectives, and I love how they used so much of Trumps and Guliani’s words in argument for what they are saying. “Look, we don’t have to make this shit up, they are saying it right here and here and here and here”

Do Schiff et al have another eight hours tomorrow, or do the Republicans get a turn?

Republicans are up Saturday.

What a speech. Damn.

Only in that they weren’t traitors.

But then you look at McConnell and you realize, there is, in fact, no hope for KY.

I haven’t given her money this cycle, but I probably will.

As someone who lives in a similar situation (Steve King’s district), I’ll tell you right now that people like McConnell don’t lose.
Polls? Irrelevant. He polled at like 18% or something insane at one point. Doesn’t matter.
He has an R next to his name. End of story. The only way he’s out is by getting primaried out.

Same for Steve King, who thankfully has a primary opponent who’s stance is basically: "wtf Steve King? I’m a Republican, vote me in and stop making us look terrible.

Now I’d love to be proven wrong, but I doubt it will happen. Even with his insanely terrible numbers people will vote for him over a Democrat.

All that matters is the letter next to his name. He’s there till he dies, retires or someone primaries him.
He’ll win with like 50.4% of the vote or something and that’ll be it because McGrath will come at 45% if she’s lucky.

You would think if any Republican had a shred of self-respect this would elicit a fuck you in response.
Alas, no.

My wife donates every time McConnell makes her furious. We are approaching the maximum.
