Isn’t that the point? To go on the record as having asked a question? Very few up there are looking for any genuinely new information.

Yep; the end vote was decided before this ever began. It’s just a matter of political theater in terms of how bad they can make it look for the electorate’s “viewing pleasure.” If anything has shown how effective repetition can be, it’s Trump’s campaign.

Yes. One of Trump’s biggest ‘advantages’ during the campaign was that there were so many avenues for criticism that none of them individually got as much repetition as “her emails”.

What?

Droit du seigneur, also known as jus primae noctis, and prima nocta, was a supposed legal right in medieval Europe, allowing feudal lords to have sexual relations with subordinate women, in particular, on their wedding nights. Wikipedia

Well, Trump is fucking us all, isn’t he?

Three Stooges syndrome!

From his feed, it looks like he was coming up with possible (humorous) defense arguments.

Yes, he was coming up with similarly ridiculous Dersh arguments.

You know, like in Braveheart.

Looks like others beat me to it, but yeah I was just coming here to post the daily WTF DERSHOWITZ

Maybe all this time I thought I liked him, I really just liked Ron Silver…

Wait, didn’t we just do “Trump sent Javelins, and but Obama” like one or two questions ago?

Did anyone ask Dershowitz “can the President shoot a pedophile lawyer in the head in the well of the Senate if he thinks it will help his re-election?

Cuz it’s an obvious consequence of the argument.

I thought Dershowitz was just a witness, not his lawyer. Has that changed?

He exists in a super-state between witness and defense lawyer so that he can simultaneously claim he is not a member of the defense team and just giving an impartial opinion but that he is also not acting as a witness because witnesses have not been allowed.

Schrodinger’s Asshole.

These questions are amazing.

…ly bad?

No, they’re good, and the house managers are tearing them up.

Nadler just ripped one up taking about whether high crimes and misdemeanors needed to be crimes, pointing out that bribery is specifically listed, but was not actually a federal crimes until 1836, so they clearly intended for people to be impeached even without committing crimes.

He summarized it as such, “impeachment is not a punishment. Impeachment is done to protect the republic from a president abusing his power and entrenching himself in office.”

Deshowitz has such an objectively bad take on this issue.
