That as recently as last night Giuliani was in pretty close cahoots with two guys who were funnelling illegal foreign campaign contributions into the accounts of a variety of politicians, one of whom may have been his closest current client? That stood out to me, that these guys were pretty clearly committing crimes in the open and that Rudy was buddy-buddy with them right up to those dudes getting arrested.
And also that Giuliani clearly lied earlier today when he spoke of plans to meet with both in DC in 24 hours, when the plan was apparently to meet together in Vienna. Which, why is he lying about that? That I honestly don’t know.

Yep. Having lunch with the two accused criminals on the day they were arrested is pretty hard to hand-wave away as innocuous contact.
The other thing that I can’t help but think about is this: this looks like a professional FBI investigation, that may have all kinds of surveillance, wiretaps, etc. involved.
If this thing starts getting close to the Oval Office, at what point does Barr get on the phone to the Director and say “Good job, but call off your boys. We’ll, uh, take it from here.”
I was actually wondering how it was discovered they were trying to leave. Were they on a no-fly list? Under surveillance?
He had a private meeting with Rupert Murdoch last night, maybe it was a job interview.
My internal explanation: they were being followed for quite some time so the feds could collect more evidence and see where it all leads, and were arrested because a) there’s already a lot, and b) may as well indict them now just to be sure to get them. I doubt we’ve heard the last of the charges (and chargees) that involve these 2.

At the time that they were supposed to be at a Congressional Hearing to testify about Rudy and his Boss’s activities under Oath. Could easily be construed as Obstruction of Justice.
