The margins are good on a successful game, even a moderately successful one; they are outstanding on a top ten hit, because you can achieve excellent economies of scale on the COGS.

The overall company margins are low compared to that because the hits pay for the non-hits and failed projects, R&D that may go no where and all the other overhead of running a large publisher (you’d be shocked at how much travel eats up, for example).
