Fox News thread of fine journalism

By saying he was the most articulate you directly compared him to the other speakers. Had you merely said he was very articulate you would be in trouble of being called a racist.

Weird how that works, isn’t it.

I wager it goes like this - Hannity and the guy he worships have too fat a head to have veins protruding from it, so a visible vein line must instead be secret magic negro sperm.

Hannity literally has an IQ of 84.

I mean… I hate the Obama portrait. I think it looks childish and shitty and the colors offend my senses.

But the bullshit I’ve seen out of the right about it makes me want to shoot someone.

I feel that way about both portraits. More or less.

What else is new? People being offended by the color of the Obamas.

I will throw in with my dislike of the portraits as presidential portraits. The artist of Obama’s portrait said the flowers in the greenery represent the important places that have been in Obama’s life, there is a flower from Kenya, from Hawaii and one that is the Illinois state flower.

I don’t think that Michelle’s picture even looks like her.

And yea, Hannity is insane.

Not trying to make any accusations here. Just making sure people know that there can be some very negative impressions made when some words are chosen in some situations. Maybe some people are unaware, so consider it an attempt to inform. Do with that information what you will, of course.

I will no longer call minorities articulate and I no longer refer to my daughters as being hysterical.

It is a crap portrait to be fair. There is plenty to criticize on artist grounds, no need for anything else. It is just a bad painting.

I appreciate the information, but I still find calling someone articulate to be some sort of racist remark absurd. Context matters a lot, and I feel like if people can’t get that… well, be offended, I guess.

I think the portraits look kinda silly as well. However, I also like to think they chose them primarily to indulge a little in the activity the right claims to enjoy so much - making your opponent’s head explode, only in this case, the headsploding isn’t also ruining a minority or poor person’s life.

Case in point: Here’s Ben Garrison’s latest fever-dream artwork and accompanying pearl-clutching rant:

“Obama’s Presidential Portrait”

Even now that he’s out of office, the fraud known as Obama continues to disparage America.

His ‘official’ and deconstructive presidential portrait is another example of his disrespect for our country. He’s shown scowling and surrounded by a wallpaper of leaves. He’s sitting while rudely splaying his skinny legs. A man-spreading insult to posterity. I’m surprised his legs weren’t shown up on a desk. Do a search of images of Obama in the oval office and you’ll see a spate of photos showing him doing just that. Dirty shoes in the faces of those around him. Muslims consider shoes to be an insult. Obama constantly shoved his up in our faces.

His hands are painted extremely large and out of scale. Is it a backhanded slight against Trump and his so-called ‘small hands’ that the lefties love to chortle about?

Obama doesn’t even show us the courtesy of wearing a tie in the painting.

The most controversial news about the portrait is this: Kehinde Wiley also has a penchant for painting black females holding up the severed heads of white females. This is blatantly racist and hateful, but apparently Barack is in alignment with the artist. Imagine if Trump’s portrait artist did such a painting in reverse—a white woman holding up the freshly carved-off head of a black woman. We’d never hear the end of it! Obama was elected ostensibly to improve race relations in this country. Instead, he did everything he could to make things worse.

It seems impossible, but Michelle’s portrait is even worse. It’s a gray, washed-out, boring, two dimensional work in which Michelle is stiffly posed. She sports a haughty expression on her face. She wears a billowing dress to hide…whatever. The most surprising thing—it doesn’t even remotely look like her!

The Obamas did their best to destroy and divide our country in order to help usher in world globalism, i.e. socialism. Hillary was considered a shoe-in to complete that mission. Instead she lost her shoe and the election. Thank God we will never see Hillary’s presidential portrait. If I were to paint it, it would be something akin to the one seen at the end of the famous movie, “The Picture of Dorian Gray.”

–Ben Garrison

And in case you were wondering what he means by “whatever” Her Haughtness’ billowing dress might be hiding:

For some context, the racist way that phrase used to be used was typically something like: ‘he’s very articulate for a black man’. That’s a different thing from saying someone is articulate. That phrase became associated with that context and now it’s hard to hear it without wondering about the intention. I seriously doubt that scuzz was attmepting to make any statement other than ‘the guy has some good oratorial skills’, but it did ring some bad old bells in my head that I had to think about. Again, no accusations, just information.

This conversation reminded me of the Chris Rock bit about this exact thing. First thing that popped up when searching for “Chris Rock he speaks so well”.

The quality is shitty, but this is all I can think of when people start talking about secret sperm:

I think I could easily and happily punch Ben Garrison in the face were I ever to have that chance.

There’s not really a good way for me to view racism and not take it personally. I understand there are a lot of people think there is, but racism is a personal topic for people who deal with it. I imagine a lot of Jewish individuals also take the holocaust personally, and the Native Americans don’t view various events of their past with cold indifference either.

As for the given the source remark, I think that was personal, and not because I read it wrong.

Maybe to you saying liberal this, liberal that is a throw away comment, but to me, most the African Americans fall into that group, and that’s not a minor thing, nor was it happenstance.

If you are aware of the backhanded compliment crap that happened, still happens, then why not just say he had the best or great speech, maybe why you think that. Leave the articulate part out. If you do run into something like that on accident, just listen and don’t rant about PC being some end of all that is humanity. It’s not some academic research and kids running out trying to soften the world, it’s like a slap in the face to someone who has to endure that sort of thing before, intentional or otherwise. And yes, this is present tense, it still happens today. It’s not ancient history at all.

I actually like Michelle’s a lot more than his, but I am not into, well art as a message vs art as I see it. I either like what I see or I don’t. His looks weird with a background like that.

Man, you guys must really hate Clinton’s portrait:

Sperm. Sperm everywhere.

I hope you aren’t implying that anything said against liberalism is somehow saying something against blacks or minorities. It sure sounds like/
