I’m not talking about pro sports though. Obviously that’s a whole other realm of wealth/revenue/etc and you can’t really compare it to any less insane salary structure. But for the national team, there’s no reason not to pay the women at least as much, if not more, than the men. They’re clearly doing a better job overall. If you are talking about the United States Soccer paying the women as much as men then there is probably a fair argument for that as from what I can tell the Women’s game is just as popular and brings in as much revenue as the men’s.

However, the world cup is a different thing. From what I can find, the Men’s World cup takes in more money than the women’s and it’s not even close. Like 6 billion for the men and 130 million for the women. If that is true, it would make no sense that the women’s champion makes as much as the men.
