Newer research from survey’s in Oregon about this topic, sort of.

Political affiliation and ethnicity are significant factors in determining national pride. Republicans are much prouder to be American than their counterparts across the state: 85% of Republicans are proud, compared to 30% of Democrats. Oregon’s residents of color are significantly more likely to say they are not proud to be an American than white residents (46% vs.17%).

This sort of thing really pisses Republicans off.

I wish it said who commissioned the survey and exactly what the questions were. I’d be willing to be if you asked “Are you happy to be an American?” or even “Do you consider yourself patriotic?” the numbers would be very high across the board. “Proud to be an American” has morphed into a tribal signifier and carries shades of nationalism that are distasteful to many. And it strikes me as the kind of survey question that a conservative propaganda outlet would commission.

DHM sends those questions out, and they do it fairly frequently, like maybe even monthly. They even ask participants if there is a topic they want covered. As to why they don’t show the actual questions, not sure.

I will watch Cavuto for a few minutes in the morning. Sure he is to the right, but he looks at things from an economic perspective for the most part. Friday he had several guys on who disagreed with Trump on China and on his running up of the debt. I don’t imagine Trump watches hum.
