The Attorney General is not a politician.
He’s a law enforcement officer.

In Australia, as far as I know (I could easily be wrong out of ignorance), a large number of the administration members aren’t under investigation for criminal activity, including two of whom which tried to flee the country the same day this meeting occurred despite their indictments supposedly being secret.

To add to this as extra “fun,” Murdoch’s news empire spun the fact Obama met with the AG on a tarmac while Clinton was being investigated as some “proof” of shenanigans.

I don’t understand. Is Barr not allowed to meet with anyone? I mean, I think he deserves suspicion when he orders take out or takes a dump, but there’s nothing particularly corrupt about the AG meeting with a media executive.

If it was Loretta Lynch meeting Bezos would it be problematic?

That said, I’m certain they are doing something shady. But that’s because they are Bill Barr and Rupert Murdoch, not because they are the AG and the owner of a media company.

This example is very useful. Yes, that would be problematic. Amazon (like Murdoch) potentially has all sorts of business before DOJ; the AG meeting the CEO privately and unofficially would create the appearance of a conflict of interest and demand that the AG recuse themselves from any sort of anti-trust or other investigation of Amazon; in short it would be scandalous.

If the AG had a social relationship with Bezos from before the AG held office, it would be less of a problem, but again there would be the appearance of a conflict of interest and the AG would again have to recuse themselves from Amazon-related issues.

It was Bill on the tarmac with the uh, candlestick.

Oh, that’s right - I have to get the right-wing outrage correct, lol.

Prepping Rudy’s face for the absolutely massive dump DJT will drop on it shortly.

They are talking directly to Trump. IMO, Rudy will be a smear on the political freeway by Saturday.

Playing this out, does that basically end the Ukraine/Biden charade? Or will Trump continue like Rudy wasn’t part of that?

He’s too all-in to back down now.

He’ll continue to pivot to more generalized accusations of corruption across the globe and ask every government representative from wherever that picks up the phone to start an investigation into Biden’s interests there. He’ll back off the specifics of Ukraine and dial up the rhetoric. His followers will fill in the gaps with pizzagate style conspiracy theories galore. He’ll respond with, “I dunno, but lots of people are talking about it. There should be an investigation!”

Shep Smith just got fired for the most intolerable of sins, telling the truth.

Like right now. Last show just aired.

And that’s what your Barr/Murdoch meeting was about lol. Fuck this country.

“When I went to work for the leopards eating faces network, I never dreamed a leopard would eat my face.”

When telling the truth is a firing offense. Can’t wait to see him on MSNBC, along side Nicole Wallace and all of the others who came to their senses.

No way he doesn’t have a non-compete clause. He’s buried.

The Fox mouthbreather viewers will be happy. Their propaganda drip will be more pure.

Good riddance.

I’d be surprised if a non-compete is effective if he’s fired. And it’s probably unenforceable anyway, if Fox wants to sue him.

But, I’m not a law-talking-guy, and I don’t know anything about that industry.

Of course he wasn’t “fired,” he’s “stepping down” probably precisely due to some NDA or non-compete clause (which autocorrect bizarrely changed to I Claudius) inhis contract.
