When I separate myself from the emotional response, and read the bits of the article that have been posted, I get the gist. The author is trying to say that in the liberal sphere of discussion, that’s the hierarchy of who “wins” arguments based on the “privilege” afforded them by their status in SJW culture.
It’s a completely fucked up, deeply stupid argument presented in the most offensively idiotic way, but I guess when you think all your real world privilege is being attacked, you need to identify your enemies and lash out. Like a dumbass.
Yeah, this is a pretty common construction. Conservatives are fond of mis-interpreting intersectionality as the “oppression olympics” where there’s a strict ranking of oppressed-ness.
The main innovation here seems to be trying to co-opt (and invert) the language of “privilege”, which they just sort of willfully misunderstand at even the best of times.
Well, speaking as a white, male, hetero, married, middle-income, college-educated person, I definitely feel the crushing weight of oppression on me at all times. Who will speak up for me??

Even after reading articles that supposedly explain it, I still have no idea what the hell “intersectionality” means. As descriptive terms go it’s a complete failure IMHO.
Yeah, no disagreement there. I mean, its sociology, so it’s pretty inherently opaque.
Basically, when I use it, I just mean the general principle that different intersections of identities have unique experiences, to whit:
For example, a black woman might face discrimination from a company that is not distinctly due to her race (because the company does not discriminate against black men) nor her gender (because the company does not discriminate against white women), but by a unique combination of the two.
But the whole point of that discussion is that this doesn’t translate to a strict oppression hierarchy where black + women is strictly worse than black + man or white + women. The point is that these are distinct experiences, and each needs to be potentially considered and addressed independently. It’s explicitly not a strict summation or subset of the constituent identities.
That stupid diagram is based more on the hierarchy of “how much will people think I’m a terrible person if I make fun of person in category X”, which is a linear hierarchy, I guess.
Also, I have to wonder about the timing of this article coming out so soon after the Weinstein decision. I realize it’s print, so it had to have been written a while ago, but man is this timing perfect.

Wich is what intrigues me so much about how corona virus will impact the presidential election. On the face of it, you can see rural and less affected areas having higher turnout. These same people that vote for Trump are also irrational in their fears, and have been conditioned by Fox as you put it, to fear everything.
