I work for the government. I was sent him with pay almost 3 weeks ago. When it was announced (shortly before I was sent home) that tax season was basically delayed until July 15th it was apparent they had no reason to rush me back. Based on that date I could see being off to the end of May and the July date wouldn’t be a problem.
But if they decide to open things up, I would expect they would send us back to work because how do you risk others and not government employees. Although there is no way to “ease” us back unless they only brought back a few at a time. I could see businesses that could keep some semblance of social distancing, but not others being allowed to open. Closing golf courses seems crazy. Large restaurants could do it.
But I want the medical experts to make that call. not Trump or Wall Street.

I know Mariposa county, and area to the NE of us hasn’t had a single case yet. They are currently telling people to stay away from them and not to visit. They have closed BnB’s and most business is shut down. You see the area is a hub for people visiting Yosemite, which has been shut down. There is no reason for anyone to go there now. But even the locals know they are better off closing things down than opening them up for the business.
I wonder where they think these “big parts” are.

The counties in Kansas are so… square. I guess there’s a bit of natural contour in the NE but the rest of it is just a grid, basically. So weird to me as a northern Californian, with our river and hill-based county lines.
Having lived in Lawrence for a few years in the 80s, its my go-to for a rural state that I kind of understand.
The counties mostly have boundaries along USGS township/range lines. There is also a County Line Road along nearly all of the boundaries. One of the grad students was doing survey work and claims to have driven every one of them.
