Hell yeah, Laura Ingraham, let’s get this party started!
I’m sure the idea is that it was built on sacred Lakota land ceded to the Lakota by treaty and then stolen from them when the treaty was inconvenient, and the Mount Rushmore monument carved there is at least partially a monument to the sort of white men who stole that land, two of whom even owned slaves. Do I think it should come down? No I do not, it seems a pointless destruction at this stage. Do the Lakota think so? I don’t know, but they could be forgiven for thinking so.
But that’s the idea behind her claim, if there is any reasoning behind it at all. It’s awareness of guilt.
This is just hilarious shit. Keep gaslighting your viewers, morons.
I think it should come down. It’s an abomination, Lakota land or not.
You mean this new Rushmore look?

Mr. Rushmore? Nah man, it’s not an abomination. Come on.
My question is how has there been no investigation of this corporate photoshop policy?
If I were a Seattle lawyer, I’d be signing up everyone I could for a class action libel/defamation lawsuit against Fox News for photoshopping in the assault rifle armed guard in both their websites and TV shows segments regarding CHAZ.
Lol. We regret that this ‘error’ was pointed out and spread on twitter.

I mean it was a bizzare choice anyhow.
If they wanted to create spin, why use a pic with Trump in the first place. There are plenty of photos without, and if they really wanted there are photos of Clinton they could have used.
Honestly surprised that they went that route.
Where have I seen that kind of propaganda before? Oh, yes.

I don’t mind it, other than the whole part where we built it someplace that wasn’t ours to build on.
It’s like painting something really awesome on someone else’s house.
We hear so many stories about how it’s hard to brief the President. And yet, the best way to brief him is known: Fox News. So even though it’s unorthodox, I figure maybe they should have stats and figures and news given to him through Fox News shows. OTOH, you can’t do that if anything is classified, or if it’s something you either don’t want the public to know, or something you don’t want other countries to know.
Maybe they could have set some White House-Only broadcast. Get the Fox and Friends crew some higher level clearance and do special tapings only for Trump.
Ok, typing this out, this sounds like a terrible idea. I can see why it never happened.
Strictly speaking, you could apply that sentence to a lot of the United States (maybe ‘all,’ depending on the relative legality of various treaties and concessions etc.). But I suppose one can at least say the tribal ownership of Lakota land was acknowledged by all parties relatively more recently than, say, Pequot land holdings.
As for the carving itself, I daresay it’s a bit tacky, but ‘abomination’ is further than I would go. It’s certainly impressive.
Der Kommissar is not in town?
He’s too busy counting trees in Sibera… if he’s lucky.
That’s the cleanest I’ve seen Eddie Furlong look in quite a while.
It’s desecrating nature to deify humans. It’s like mountaintop mining, but worse.

So i guess you were in favor of when Al Qaeda destroyed the status of Buddha that were carved in the mountains. Personally, i wasn’t. I found that act abhorrent.
Also, if you think that carving stuff into mountains is bad, you might want to talk to the Lakota, who are doing it themselves to honor crazy horse.
Carving into a mountain is not “desecration”. It’s not like mining, because it doesn’t polute or destroy the land. You can still go there. There’s nothing magical about rocks that they lose after they’ve been hit with a chisel.
I mean, if Trump elected to carve his dick into the length of the Grand Canyon, we might rightly consider that desecration. it’s not a hard and fast rule. Mt. Rushmore is pretty embarrassing to me on a core level, but then again, I do actually hate America, so, you know, my opinion is a little askew on these matters :)
