Oprah might have got shitty service in Paris but that doesnt negate the additional factors of class and wealth when applied across billions of people.

I’m a non white who grew up in a rural town in the 70s and 80s. Ive experienced a lifetime of racial slurs and incidents. Ive been called a paki, nigger, jungle bunny, spear chucker, a monkey and everything under the sun. I’ve been told I’m not welcome in my country of birth, to go home, that I’m to blame for 9/11 and 7/7. I’ve been told I should be deported to the land of my father. My white wife was told to use her maiden name to endure her CV doesn’t get binned.
Despite this I don’t believe all white people are racist, or that all white people are more privileged than me, and i don’t group white people into a single, collectively responsible, collectively guilty mass.

I had the misfortune of enduring Fox Noise over the holidays and from what I saw, Bill O’Reilly is the oldest male host on the network but there are no comparably aged women who have their own shows. Most of the women at FN appear to be in the 20’s and 30’s with a few token 40 somethings to give side commentary. When Bill O’ was on, he always seemed to have a couple of women who were more than half his age wearing attire that seemed more appropriate for a nightclub than a news program.
Another thing that caught my eye is that they have that former MTV veejay from the 90s’s, Kennedy, on their morning program. I found it entirely odd that someone like her who came from a network that, from a conservative point of view, promoted marijuana use, premarital sex, and rotted the minds of impressionable males with Beavis & Butthead, would find her way to a conservative enclave like FN.

Someone who grew up in Britain is highly unlikely to understand the racial issues in America. Racism is a worldwide problem but their the background behind it is very region specific. I had a hard time understanding the issue in Japan myself because it seemed so… odd, but the gravedigger (ex.) problems are very real there.
