Ian Hardingham left Mode 7. He was the main developer in all of their games, and from now on Mode 7 will focus solely on publishing. They’ll support their released games, but that is all for now.
Not a huge surprise, as FS2 was a flop sales-wise.
Looks like they’ve published a few games already, and while my instinctive reaction to this news was negative, I actually think this is a good thing. We need more small publishers, as that’s the missing ingredient to get Indie games to succeed. Good luck to them.

I’m still playing FS2 and been loving the heck out of it. Since my last post (and 41 hours deep) I’ve had a few crashes but nothing that wasn’t caught from an auto-save.
I was chatting to a friend about a mission I was playing last week, as I was playing it, and it went something like this:
So in the situation I’m in on Frozen Synapse 2, I’ve got my squad in a room ready to escort someone out of this parking lot. I’m being ambushed from the street. They’ve got uzis, pistols, shotguns, a grenade launcher and rocket launcher so I can’t really afford to camp in the room (it could be blown to smithereens) but I can’t afford to get too close with the shotguns. Thankfully, I’ve just hired a smoke grenadier, and had him lay down a smoke screen which my knife unit has ran into while the enemy spills into the lot. I’m hoping he can emerge and wreak havoc because they’re dashing right towards the smoke cloud…
He is right in the middle there!
Actually, because it’s in my territory/district, there’s friendly militia in the streets that are laying waste to the enemies before they’re even getting into the parking lot. :joy:
The enemy rocket launcher has just destroyed the parking lot wall to get inside… but I’ve got a sniper in place to take him out through the new opening. God, I love shit like this.
omg, I can run my knife dude in and out of the smoke cloud so they don’t know where he is!!!

Basically, knifey is so much fun to bring along to missions and synergises really well with smoke grenades.
