The original Wipeout.
Man, all those symbols had me thinking it was some sort of schematic maker game.
To be honest, I had got it in my head that 2097 was the original. Anyway, I won’t be able to do another one for about 24 hours.
Yeah, Wipeout 2097 was another name for Wipeout XL, the sequel that came out a year after the original (1996 vs 1995). I finally played it in 2001 when I found a used copy and played it on the Bleemcast. That was Playstation emulation software for the Dreamcast. First you put in the Bleemcast disc, launched the software, then hit eject, and put in the PSX disc. I played Gran Turismo 2 and Wipeout XL this way that summer.
