Such a great guess, but no.

I actually remember seeing that cover art in my Amstrad magazine a lot! (I didn’t have access to most Amstrad games, living in Qatar, but I had access to Amstrad’s magazine).

Never seen the cover art for it, but could it be that massive C64 RPG, Centauri Alliance?

Edit: nevermind, just noticed the cassette and other platforms references!

Incorrect!

Too late!

Next update will be tonight.

Sun Dog?

Invasion Orion?

More like NOPE Dog. Am I right, @Gordon_Cameron?

Methinks kerzain is taking the piss.

A bold guess, but wrong game!

Apparently Gordon Cameron is sitting this one out. No doubt in some sort of protest over the last game. This means more winning for everybody else.

I’m amazed at the level of artwork there for a Commodore 64 game. If I had bought that, I’d have been pretty disappointed by how the game actually looked.

But nowadays that could be an in-game screenshot!

Incorrect.

Elite?

DAMMIT, Kerzain! You had me wracking my brain for awhile trying to remember what ancient space game had Regula in the title.

The game is DERPSPACE: Encounter at Regula, by our own @Gordon_Cameron. A true classic-in-the-making!

I thought we were only authorized to post fake games’ box art by rule! Unfair!

You are the official winner!

trp

DERPSPACE is the one and only game that felt appropriate to post after I unjustly stole victory from @Gordon_Cameron by merely adding a 2 to the game he had already singled out in the prior round. A game I had never even heard of in my entire life. I felt bad about this, and in an attempt to make amends I tried my best to select a game for an audience of one; one Gordon Cameron, creator and artist of not only DERPSPACE, but its cover art–as seen here in all its glory.

But much to Gordon’s credit, he has oodles of honor and refused to take part in such a blatantly rigged contest. I have no doubt that the unfathomable depths Gordon’s immense integrity will one day see him deliver what will probably be hailed as the most important video game humanity has ever produced.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, be careful what you call “fake.” DERPSPACE has been a front page favorite for years, and I won’t abide the game being disrespected like this. Especially if it means tarnishing Gordon’s legacy.

Now here we are, watching the torch pass from me to @Nightgaunt. Congratulations, Nightgaunt, you’ve certainly earned heaps of street cred this day.

You misread what I wrote.
Your misreading is dubious, sir!

I’m rumored to have zero reading and comprehension skills.

I read about it.

New box! This game exists!
