I had this game…every time I open this thread and see the pirate guy something goes off in my head…but I just cannot remember what game. Story of this thread for me…
@LeeAbe I had the same issue since I first saw the image. I even know the publisher, so a quick search turned it up for me, but I don’t want to answer until some more guesses come in, or the next shot, since I didn’t actually remember the title on my own.

@nijimeijer got it right! Was the final hint what did it? The distinctive horizontal lines? Or earlier hints?

Plundered Hearts was Infocom’s only foray into romantic Interactive Fiction. I’ve played a bit of it but never played to completion.
I remembered it was an Infocom game and a pirate game. I didn’t remember the specific title, but that was enough to spur memory so I found it. It felt cheaty, but I felt I remembered enough to go for the guess.
When I was a kid, my dad got me a used Apple IIc as my first own computer (we had a PC in the living room), and it came with a huge box of games, many of which were Infocom titles. I cut my gaming teeth on text and graphic adventure games.
Edit - New box will have to wait for the morning!
Okay, here we go. A distinctive style will make this one easy to spot, but fond memories forced me to use it!
