You’re correct, of course. It is Faces of War, aka Outfront II.

It was the follow-up to Soldiers: Heroes of World War II (a truly fantastic game), in a series that became widely known in the west only by its third installment, the awesome Men of War.

But Faces of War beats the other games in the series in the “terrible box” category (and the cover actually has three versions - one with the flag you see above, one with the same flag changed to the US flag, and one with no flags, in which the “my face is tired of everything” guy holds a pistol instead). The game is pretty good, though, even if overshadowed by Men of War in nearly every aspect.

BTW, all the games in the series are on sale on GOG until tomorrow morning, in case you’re curious. ;)

I was so intrigued by the cover concept you described, I tried to look it up online but only found the US variant - and it is the exact same guy! It is interesting the third one wasn’t SS Crowe or something.
I had never heard of the game, but I must confess I became aware of the Men of War series only after they began spamming its games in every other Bundlestar or Groupee bundle.

I like how they changed the tanks, helmets and airplanes of the US one, but left the rifles and uniforms alone. And as for the one with the pistol, for some reason they changed the belt equipment?
