I’ve had no use for Quinn long before gg started. Her shtick has been to use the misogyny charge as a weapon. I could care less about Sarkeesian.
Much of this gg stuff has to do with the indie scene and those who cover it. It only took off when pseudo-journalists decided to start using their platforms to paint gamers, in general, with a broad stroke. But there’s no monolithic side involved in the sense many people seem to believe.
One side is a bunch of pissed off gamers who feel they’ve been character assassinated for many different reasons (hence, not monolithic) and the other side is filled with SJWs eager to show how much they “care” via ridiculing and preening (we got to see that in the infamous qt3 thread about the lawsuit I was in where SJWs lined up to display their ignorance on the case and the law in order to show they were “good” people).
Most people don’t care precisely because it isn’t really relevant outside the fringes of gaming culture. That said, I care because I’ve witnessed and experienced the creeping SJW effect on my industry and the communities I’ve spent over a decade in. I am glad there is a push back and a reminder that SJWs are a tiny, tiny minority of the general population.
Once again we this wonderful delusion that SJWs are insincere, that nobody really could care about sexism or racism or homophobia. After all, Brad is a straight white male and he doesn’t care, and he’s a good person.
