Looks like the top stories of the day are Milo writing about Brianna being transgender (again I guess) and everyone shitting on her, and GG completely convinced Matt Lees is the new Jack Thompson and screaming in outrage, somehow missing the humor in a article literally titled, “Video Game Genre Names are Bullshit, So Let’s Change Them”.

LOL GamerGate apparently has progressed from being unable to handle reading things they disagree with to objecting to the mere existence of contrary opinions. That’s ridiculous. I have to imagine the folks freaking out were just random douches that otherwise had nothing to do with the game? I can’t imagine that there’s actually some huge portion of towerfall players who honestly care either way about it.

GG’s issue started out because of how corrupt and neptitistic the indie game scene is between indie devs and the journalists who cover them and the various organizations involved.

This is where we disagree, and I don’t believe the foundation that is being claimed as GG’s grievances based on how and who they chose and continue to choose to be their targets. We’re talking about an industry infamous for the lack of women in their ranks, yet their primary targets turned out to be… women. As in the same group that’s hard to actually find in the industry.

I understand there are people who want to address journalistic changes. I agree with some of those points, but disagree on some just like most people do in areas of debate. However, GG has turned into a mass of thugs not willing to admit there are problems in their rank. Change is hard. And if you haven’t met people who don’t want women in gaming, you’re not wanting to see it. As a woman, i assure you they are there. Not that you’re actually interested in other people’s experiences.

I don’t think Brad is denying that there are problems and people who don’t want women in gaming. I know I’m definitely not, I’ve seen it myself with my own eyes, in-person, and it disgusts me.

The question is how to solve it, is it an encourage people to join in first approach, or a get the problems out approach first?

I think the way to deal with it is truthfully. If you know anyone that is proud to be GG, you let them know in plain speaking, all the reasons why girls are not interested in them, and probably never will be, certainly if they don’t grow up and become a man, and certainly if they keep on hating because of that one time ‘Jenny’ turned them down in the playground.

You have to let them know that getting turned down by women (girls even if you started that young) is normal, it happens to everyone, even the popular guys from time to time, because women are people, real actual people just like you, and are not simply objects for you to possess (like your Xbone) and use when you want. They are not their for your own gratification, they have their own views and choices to make in life which is relevant and valid as they are not slaves to man/boys/immature GG children. And once the GG children get this, really get this, they can improve as human beings, grow into real men and join the rest of the normal human race. They may even get lucky and find a girl that does not think them repugnant and infantile - progress!

The stuff about “manchildren” “grown up men” and all that stuff is that only when you are really a adult you really gives a rat ass to what anyone else would think about your hobbies, your job or how your house is decorated. Infantile people care about that shit, but when you are adult, you can’t care less. In my view.

Then theres people with a biological clock that want life to follow a planned route. This shit is too much stress to even write about it, I feel sad for that people life.

What it really happends is that one person with that clock marry the wrong person, then they have to start again from position 0, but with a lot of ugly baggage and bad memories.

Lets say you receive 4.000$ from some remote inheritance.

Some people is going to buy a new sofa and TV. Some people is going to travel to mali. Some people is going to pay for sky lesson or flight lessons. Some people is going to buy a new PC and rebuild a room to be a gaming room.

Who is so stupid to say some of these options are a waste of 4000$ and others are a good use? all of these are worth the maximum value for the ones that took them. I have no use for sky lessons, and I would probably be really bored in mali. You have to take your own decisions, other people decisions are not the right ones for you, you have to live your own life, and not somebody else life. .

Because here’s a thought: it doesn’t seem to actually disgust you. The abstract hypothetical bad acts of imaginary “fringe” people doing unspecified bad things disgusts you, but when the rubber hits the road and you’re face to face with actual posters in this actual thread who actually believe misogyny does not exist, people who have been monitoring ZQ and AS even before #GG as possible threats to the industry, people who believe THE MAINSTREAM VIEW is to dislike AS and ZQ as a pox on both houses fairness act…
