To the extent that there’s some value to be gained from this nonsense, it is important to impress on people like Brad that even as they brag about putting dissenting opinions on ignore, there are no safe spaces for misogyny and racism. There shouldn’t be, at least. Letting you and Brad and Busc delude yourselves into thinking the mainstream dislikes AS and ZQ(for reasons that nobody can explain, of course), or that the majority of gamers are pro-GG… well, silence in response to that can be interpreted as endorsement. That’s a misconception that needs to be corrected.
So consider this a communique from the real world: “Nope.” When “the different views” people have are over basic decency and tolerance, ending it with agreeing to disagree isn’t progress.
A lot of the backlash over this appears to because various people with unpopular social views regarding gender, sexuality, and race had retreated to gaming culture and found a welcoming community, and the “SJW menance” of actual criticism by certain publications was seen as an invasion from the outside. Like it wasn’t enough that they had gays on Glee and a black Human Torch and a woman Thor, now it’s even your beloved vidya.

Gods and religions are to make fun at. So if somebody draw Thor as a women, thats ok in my book. Its important to practice the freedom of expression, or it gets weaker, is like a muscle.
Anyway heres a atractive women and some fun dude, cosplaying as the same character (and swap sex) from a childrens cartoon.
who wore it better?
Fionna cosplay
Finn cosplay
We should offend some religion / political position / soccer team every day as a rule. The other option is having cartoon artist be the one on the forefront of defending our rights, and dyiing (like Charlie hebdo) to defend these rights. I don’t think cartoon artist are supposed to support all the weight to defend our civilization, maybe we should do some of it. Insult a god today!.
Thor as girly arms, anyway.
I disagree - Adventure Time is not a (solely) children’s cartoon
Arguably, Fiona is a separate character. While she’s based on a fan created gender swap of Finn, there have been several episodes about her (albeit in the context of in-world fan fiction).
Never change, Forum Crusader.
BTW, was it shocking to the body politic there were gay people on Glee, really? Will and Grace was almost 20 years ago.

Isn’t Virgil a Schadenfreude vampire from another forum, thirsting for drama?
What the hell are you talking about? You’re not a moral crusader. You are not confronting misogyny or racism. You are just hurling vile insults and inapt labels at people you don’t know, from the safest possible vantage point, at a message board renown for being civil and tolerant. It’s as if you were enraged at Islamic extremism and decided to “confront” that phenomenon by screaming “there are no safe places for ISIS’s ethnic cleansing” at strangers at a Starbucks in Alaska.
If you sincerely believe anything you’re saying, your cognitive reasoning is a tad impaired and your constant rage is misguided and being spent impotently. But as I said before, your sole purpose seems to be to to wallow in creating as toxic an atmosphere as you can - you created an alias solely for that purpose, you participate nowhere else on this forum, and all you do is post inflammatory, incoherent, non-sequiturs at people, occasionally punctuated by some more sensible comments on something awful happening elsewhere in some internet cesspool.
It’s all so vacuous, unpleasant, and pointless, but you seem to consider it an incredibly worthwhile use of your time, which is the most telling indictment of your judgement, lack of perspective and worth. While you rationalize acting vile by boasting that you’re storming the beaches to confront indecency and intolerance, your Higgins boat of righteous fury has a few holes and is floating in a duck pond, and the fishermen are tired of your senseless jihad.

If only this guy was civil and tolerant:
You covered racism, intolerance, and got a nice subtle dig at his possible sexual orientation too. Maybe I’m reading too much into it and perhaps meant those in a non-insult or label-y way, and maybe that’s actually your bestest friend in the world, but it doesn’t seem very civil or tolerant.

Good grief, it was criticizing his hypocrisy when it came to racism and bigotry, like the hypocritical “wide stance” politician from a few years back, so yeah, you read something into it that wasn’t there. I’m happy that, unlike you, I can’t imagine any sexual orientation being considered insulting, or anyone’s business.
I absolutely agree there. I’m not a great person, a paragon of virtue. The bar of virtue necessary to clear #GamerGate is incredibly low.

So… no answer to my question? Damn near a page of scribbling, no answer to what should be a very simple question. Instead just constant, aggressive vitriol because you ran into a stranger on the internet who disagreed with you about #GamerGate.
Turn that fucking eye of judgment inward, my friend.
Also, I registered this account in 2010. That’s a long con just to, 4 years later, infuriate you by reminding you that your views on “political correctness gone amok” are pretty much exclusively shared by white supremacists and MRAs. I should get a medal.
I’d also settle for you, with words, actually explaining how that guy was a “hypocrite” about racism. Is it, and please tell me it is, is it that it was when he mentioned race he became the real racism, anti-racist is anti-white, etc?

It’s hypocritical because you’re obsessed with what color or sex people are, while others here, including myself, find that sort of race-based thinking anathema, because it perpetuates rather than addresses bigotry in any constructive way by failing to treat people as individuals.
You’ve made 600 posts on a gaming message board that you don’t otherwise frequent calling strangers racial supremacists and misogynists in almost every single post, for fuck’s sake. You’re like a homeless person shouting about non-organic food at everyone crossing the street to go to see a movie, while gorging yourself on nothing but Hostess Twinkees.
And yet you appear to have plowed into it face-first.
Did it hurt?
Escapistmagazine.com is a site for video game reviews and all sorts of other nerdy coolness. A lot of left wing social justice warriors are outraged that the site recently hired @TheBrandonMorse and @lizzyf620 as contributors. The outrage flows from the #GamerGate controversy where some gamers are rebelling against the forces trying to mandate politically correct speech codes.
Disclosure: This site may be somewhat biased lol.
Actually, I prefer “#Gamergate, the controversy arising out of that time when all the militant vegans turned up at your barbecue.”
Wow. “Don’t talk about race or gender, because that just exacerbates the problem?” Really? That’s your answer? Um. Yeah. No.
You’re further down the rabbit hole than I suspected.

He’s not saying don’t talk about race or gender. He’s saying don’t walk into the room and ask everyone if they’ve stopped beating their wife.
You guys still think you are being invaded and fighting a war when all you are doing is throwing a temper tantrum.
Disclosure: This site may be somewhat biased lol.
I couldn’t even get to the site without a popup taking over my browser asking who I think the GOP nominee for 2016 will be.
Interesting pov. Whereas, it seems to me that a small group of indie gamers criticized the gaming media for giving meritless coverage to a developer because they were, literally, in bed with her and rather than addressing that criticism (or ignoring it) the press threw a temper tantrum labeling gamers as misogynists and just generally freaking out.
