holy fuck, today has been awesome.

What will they do when they enter employment? Ladies and gentlemen, may I thank the CEO, whose summary of the annual results leave no doubt as to the strength of our company, please, a big round of jazz hands for Tim Cook.
and whilst I am laughing at students.
Safe Spaces
“the safe space, Ms. Byron explained, was intended to give people who might find comments “troubling” or “triggering,” a place to recuperate. The room was equipped with cookies, coloring books, bubbles, Play-Doh, calming music, pillows, blankets and a video of frolicking puppies, as well as students and staff members trained to deal with trauma… At one point she went to the lecture hall — it was packed — but after a while, she had to return to the safe space. “I was feeling bombarded by a lot of viewpoints that really go against my dearly and closely held beliefs,” Ms. Hall said.”

The movement to jazz hands instead of clapping has to be satire.

So they set up… a kindergarten classroom for college students?
sigh Of course it was Brown.
No jazz hands is real. It originated from the NUS Oxford students.
Clapping isnt the only thing thats problematic.

Also, this gem.

Please note, this only applies to white gay men. Gay men who are minorities are free to continue as they please.

How about those feminists and their silly clapping? I see GamerGate has finally turned back to ethics in games. “today has been awesome.” = let’s mock random strangers?

Finally? It’s always been front and center. Then they wonder why no one takes them seriously when they say it’s about journalism. It’s never been about journalism and always been about this sort of crap.

GamerGate all over twitter is in full attack mode on this important subject. Gotta go after those random brown university feminists for clapping funnily.
Keep politics out of my games! Oh wait…
To be fair to PWK, I think this thread moved on from GG in general and into a general “Silly SJW Tricks” and “Repugnant Internet Misogamy” catch-all some time ago.
Jazz hands is pretty absurd, to be sure, but I don’t see what’s wrong with the Motion 512 thing. As a motion, I assume it’s purely symbolic, but the gay appropriation of black culture sounds like a kind of interesting topic.
Re: Gamergate itself, I don’t think there’s actually anything else to say about it, is there? Might as well use this thread for other related topics so we don’t use up our strategic thread reserve.

Ok gotta stop this reading this crap. Seeing so many self-professed ‘gamers’ being as mean as they can on twitter is just depressing.
To be fair, Brown was the play-doh and puppies room. Jazz hands appears to be the Oxford Student’s Union.

So they want white gay men to act like Kermit the Frog?
You might have noticed that most of us moved away from ethics in journalism to discussing safe spaces, tone policing, no platforming, concern trolling, privilege, call outs and the rest of the trappings of modern online identity politics months ago.
but then again, maybe not.
and no, its not “feminism”. Its the application of identity politics by modern (online) activists, overwhelmingly from the millennials, which incidentally, present the greatest danger to egalitarianism and equality in 40 years of progress.
No, not gay appropriation. White gay male appropriation. Asian, African, Aboriginal and Eskimo gay males are fine to continue as they please.
and yes, of course its a inconsequential silly little motion, just because they declared the entire world a safe space doesnt mean it is. I’m afraid people will mock the ridiculous, like it or not.

I honestly don’t see how jazz hands can be a real thing.
No one could possibly have their heads that far up their own asses. Certainly someone would stand up and say, “Hey, this is nonsensical.”
Otherwise, in 30 or so years when these people are the folks running things, it’s going to be trivially easy for someone to just take over the world, because these people will be absolutely incapable of dealing with any kind of real issue.
This is why these activists are a danger.

This is No Platform. The concept of not allowing people to debate (or applying restrictions) if their viewpoint is “offensive”

deaf people do it, I can understand why it’s not silly in that context.
Are you being triggered?
I can’t tell how much of this thread on any side is real and how much is Kids in the Hall satire.
