No, that’s perfectly fine to say because it’s horseshit spewing from someone’s brain all over the place and deserves to be called out.

Men-free spaces? Like what? Your house? Pretty sure there aren’t any there if you don’t want them. She’s a complete fucking nutter and that’s the nicest way I could possibly phrase that.

This is her comic on growing up as a girl who played games: http://cargocollective.com/eliz/Manic-Pixel-Dream-Girl

I really enjoyed it.

What are CIS men?

GG is all frothy mad at TotalBiscuit, who seems intent on slowly backing out of this mess. Good luck TB!

Adam Baldwin brings the crazy. He seems to be the only high profile figure determined to die on that hilltop.

The idea of an interview conducted via twitter is hilariously stupid to me.

Short for cisgender. Men who were born that way. Guys like you and I.

non-transgendered.

Milo’s suspension was overturned- guessing they got flooded with abuse claims it hit an autotrigger, then they investigated/overturned.

Come on, you know she’s trolling men, right?

Check this out: http://gamingsfeministilluminati.com/

Just read the whole thing. Based on that, I’d want to be besties with her. Now, I’m super confused… how did that and those crazy misandrist tweets come out of the same person? I simply cannot bridge that.

Quaro: CIS is Latin for “on this side of”, and is basically the “not transgender” or “identifies as the plumbing you were born with.”

This is where 3rd wave feminism gets weird and turns in upon itself, by creating all these subdivisions and labels that people then judge each other by - which is the opposite of the message they preach externally. I find that pretty odd.

So, you can be cisgender straight heteronormative, cisgender queer (I prefer gay, they use queer), bi-gender, agender (no gender), androgyn (equal man/woman), third or fourth gendered, and transgendered which is the inverse of the plumbing attached when born. This isn’t cross-dressing because you can be a cisgender who wears the transgendered clothing.

This was not divisive enough, so we can also pull in Otherkin and consider their gender roles. People who sexually identify as non-human. Furry, vampire, angel, demon, elf, dragon, fae, alien, plant, whatever. 2nd wave feminism wouldn’t accept that bullshit, but 3rd wave seems to embrace it because they need all the friends they can get. Essentially the Otherkin read too many White Wolf RPG books and decided they were their character IRL.

So, all this sets up a bunch of classism, and what’s called the “oppression olympics”. Essentially, if I can prove I’m more oppressed than you by combination of gender, sexual orientation, race, wealth, physical ability then I can boss you around because you’re “privileged” and I as the under-privileged have a blank check where you’re concerned.

The hierarchy of oppression:

cis white male = top of the social heap. This person can’t have problems, because they’re white, straight, gender normal.
cis white female = only has white men to worry about oppressing them.
cis non-white male = Like the white guy, but is a pigmentation minority, so he’s got that going for him.
cis non-white female
Repeat the above, + queer.
Repeat the above, + disabled.
Repeat the above, + transexual.
Repeat the above, + non-human.

thus:
transgender non-white cross-dressing vampire squirrelkin with autism in a wheelchair who, although born female, sexually identifies as an artichoke = Gold Medal

So, the more I can claim people more “social normal” than myself, the more empowered I am to dismiss them as existing only to oppress me and I get to say and do whatever I want while ignoring them but blaming all my problems on them.

It’s quite literally a social race to the bottom.

The reason “Marxist” gets tossed in here is actually ironic, because Marx preached against classist divisions because it created destructive struggles in the society - which allows the oligarchy to more easy control the common man. Radical Feminism has had a hostile yet useful relationship with this philosophy because they consider the “gender struggle” to be a history-long class struggle between men and women for dominance. This is described as the “oppression of the patriarchal state” since government is typically male-centric. Where Marxism is about identification and mitigation of class divisions, radfem has embraced it as “the more the merrier” and lately encouraged more and more divisive labeling since it’s “empowering” and more inclusive.

As a quasi-Marxist myself, I am offended at the comparison, to say the least.

If we go down the rabbit hole of patriarchal oppression in society we eventually end up at Fart Rape.

“By farting louder the man is using passive aggressive violence to position himself as dominant, this intimidates the woman to subconsciously not release as much flatulence and thus the woman fearing for her safety doesn’t fart as loud as a sign of submissiveness, this in turn contributes to rape culture and women being oppressed.”

“Don’t tell women to fart louder tell men not to fart so loud. This is clear victim blaming and government should pass laws to make male farts above a certain decibel illegal to make human flatulence equal and not discriminate against women."

– Ashleigh Ingle

So, we need to stop in-fighting and making up ridiculous bullshit to struggle among ourselves about, and get back to the serious business of hating the bankers and politicians like Karl wanted us to.

There is a simple reason: she’s satirizing GG. A fair few people have been flooded with some truly noxious stuff on Twitter, and any number have responded by going full on snark mode. Those tweets read to me as a deliberate inversion of all the GG nonsense about ‘video games are for men, let us have our space, and quit trying to mix feminism in’ that has been thrown around.

Does this mean the sarcasm is well placed given the frighteningly large number of GG without any sense of sarcasm or irony? Probably not. While the joke may sound good, there are a lot of people who are going to pick that up and run with it as if serious.

It’s confusing when she does that, because she’s swimming in a pond full of people who have been making those “jokes” for years. Except they’re not joking.

So, yeah, it’s easy to read those tweets and say “Oh, this asshole shit again.”

Personally, I cannot wait until we encounter aliens. At that point “race” isn’t going to be ethnicity, it’s going to be planetary origin. Could be quite unifying for humans.

Aszurom-

Am I not allowed to say this is probably not ok?

What do you mean, “allowed”? You just said it. Did anything happen to you? Bigots always whine about not being “allowed” to say whatever offensive shit they want(“the PC police”, etc.), but what they really mean is that they want to say whatever they want and have no one disagree with them. And that, buddy, just ain’t on the table.

Just read the whole thing. Based on that, I’d want to be besties with her.

I’m going to guess she ain’t looking to make friends with reactionaries who use “misandrist” and quote the fucking Alinsky rules(In 2014! Two Thousand Four Teen!) UNIRONICALLY. You made your bed, kid. You just went to bat for white supremacy in that same post, whining about people noticing privilege. People know what that shit means!

It’s really, really hard to convey sarcasm or irony without resorting to some sort of additional signifier (e.g. emoticons). Written communication – particularly short written communication – is just not a good way to convey anything that actually requires tone.

Identities are practical, not necessarily divisive. Maybe you think it’s crazy that identity can be so complex but the issues and experiences of a transgender lesbian are not going to be the same as a hetero female, so simply describing them both as “women” CAN be too general.

It’s confusing when she does that, because she’s swimming in a pond full of people who have been making those “jokes” for years. Except they’re not joking.

Full of people eh? I would suggest, strenuously, that misandrists who hold these sorts of views are far far far less numerous than men who openly want “woman-free” spaces and think women should assume a subservient role to men. It’s so rare in fact that my automatic impulse reading her tweets is that she is being ironic, because women truly honestly expressing those opinions are aaaaalmost unheard of.

Where is the female version of Return of Kings?

I will interrupt the discussion with a random image from the internets.

Harrison Bergeron meets Ballerina.

Stunningly relevant. Well done.

http://www.sparknotes.com/short-stories/harrison-bergeron/summary.html

I don’t understand. Does that woman actually want men-free places, or is she being ironic or something?

So if I understand correctly, you are saying that this is relevant because women are inferior to men and so you see the feminist agenda is to level the playing field by handicapping men so they are more equal to the inferior women.

Hard to see how it is relevant unless you hold that belief.

I approve of the Vonnegut sidetrack. In fact favorite Kurt Vonnegut short story: discuss.

This one is being ironic… I think. Maybe. But, there are enough that rant like that daily that you can’t separate irony from reality here can you?
