GG vs wiki contributors? That’s going to be some hilarious shit.
Going to be?
Jimmy Wales involvement has already been discussed in this thread, the battle over gamergates page has been in progress since day 1. The wiki team are struggling to maintain neutrality and to keep both sides away from the article.
Jimmy Wales actually recently invited pro-GG types to contribute assuming they could properly source their additions and write them in a neutral tone. Of course it was an utter disaster.
His strive for neutrality is admirable.
GG might have contributed something worthy a month ago, now, not a chance. The twitter stream is very poor quality these days.
There’s even white males tweeting pics on #notyourshield facepalm
So, I looked at that and …
“How many gamergates is an ant queen worth?”
Is apparently a thing. So gamergate wasn’t up on their entomology and created at least a weird new etymology.
The problem is they have no sources for any of their claims. Nothing. Not even the supposed “Gamers are Dead” article conspiracy, which you think would be an easy to support if it were in ANY way true, can be substantiated or sourced.
Also they think that a guy saying something on twitter should be a valid citation for their claims. Ultimately a lot of GG claims boil down to twitter-echo-chamber-generated “facts” that just get repeated and repeated even though they have been thoroughly debunked.
Of course you have GGers accusing Jimmy Wales of being part of the coverup. Naturally.
The article is shit. Too many Vox, Gawker, Kotaku, Guardian citations etc. Left wing media sources used as citations against a consumer movement that targeted left wing media? Allowed of course, (to quote talk:“editors’ highly legalistic and rigid interpretation of Wikipedia policy to create a POV article”) but wikipolitiking is a hard game to play, way to hard for the average GGer, who have spent too much time playing games and not enough being a wikilawyer and got themselves thoroughly owned.
As the average GGers are delusional fools they will find many venues a challenge.
Any chance I can convince y’all to post a link when discussing this stuff? As a service for those of us who don’t read every sub-reddit or hang out on Twitter.
Anyone would struggle in the world of editing controversial wiki articles, especially up against admin Ryulong, a major contributor to the wiki page.
Who. has. history. lots.
because when you are using the wayback machine to demonstrate a world class, globally renowned dick, you have quite a file of evidence.
Just google him, he’s wikicleveblakemore.
Edit: looks like another editor of the article has stepped over the line too. “POV Warrior” that’s a new one.

The suggestion that GamerGate was ever “high quality” is pretty hilarious. From day one, literally the first ever GamerGate tweet by Adam Baldwin, it was used to perpetuate 100% baseless lies about women who are not journalists under the guise of claiming to be about ethics in journalism.
It was not high-quality then, and it’s being going downhill ever since.
Don’t confuse your recent recognition of that fact as anything about GamerGate actually changing since then.
I think you are missing the point, it’s about ethics in Wiki Editing.
The conversation has moved through a million subjects and now about bias at the Wikipedia front of World War Gamergate (or more likely an inconsequential side note in World War Wikipedia), and Jimbo confirming bias by an editor, your reply is to yell b…b…b… but… misogyny!
Oh Andrew Sullivan on Neros temp ban.
>in before Sullivan? LOL, that man is literally Hitler.
>in before there’s no such thing as SJWs.
Intel is advertising with Gamasutra again. LOL
Live in fear if it makes you happy I guess. More panicky slippery slope stuff from Sullivan. Keep feeding that outrage machine.

What that shirt needs is a tie with a hula girl on it to really complete the look.
I think perhaps his handler should have suggested a different shirt. Not because it’s a patriarchy bowling team rape shirt, but because it’s just tacky as shit.
I think it is inappropriate. It would be equally inappropriate if it were a bunch scantily clad dudes posing. I dress like a slob at work but I think that cheesecake does not belong in the work environment anymore than people should be browsing for porn on work assets or in the workplace.
Have some common fucking sense you hippy (not you Asz the guy in the shirt)
Yup. I work in a pretty mellow place when it comes to dress code. Pretty much “clothes. please wear some.” Even here, if one of my team wore that shirt, I’d be having a quiet word with them to suggest that it’s not really workplace appropriate attire.
