Whoa! The new preview for S2 looks incredible! I just finished Book 1 today (after having watched the full 1st season), and now hope to get through book 2 and at least some of the 3rd before S2 starts.

The word is that Seasons 3 and 4 will be filmed back-to-back, pretty much taking a full year to film. That will cover Storm of Swords. The only weird thing with the plan is that those kids will grow a lot before they reconvene to film season 5.

Most of the actors are already older than the characters ages, some like the ones playing Robb & Jon by allot.

G.R.R. Martin apparently also intended for more time to pass through the chronology of the books - although some adjustment upwards was already built into the TV cast’s age to start with.

At any rate the whole Harry Potter thing has demonstrated quite a bit of tolerance on the part of audiences.

HBO Go will be available on your Xbox 360 beginning April 1st. Engadget reports that the service will arrive on consoles alongside the premiere of the new season of Game of Thrones. Time to consider cable again.

You’ll probably also need to have cable other than Time Warner. ESPN’s been on the 360 for a while and TW still hadn’t unlocked it last time I checked.

You’ll need a HBO subscription through your cable provider just like the computer and mobile versions of HBOgo.

Call it wishful thinking or what have you, but it also sounds like GRRM is working hard on Winds of Winter. He doesn’t want the show to catch up to him.

Interesting you post this and then within days GRRM churns out an update whining about how there’s not enough time in the day, he’s behind on X, Y, and Z, and oh woes me I can’t ever say no.

Sounds a helluva lot like the GRRM of the 2nd half of last decade.

So this comes out on Blu tomorrow, should I blind buy it? Its like $35… I missed it on HBO last year but from what I’ve skimmed on here it seems pretty good…

I liked Legend of the seeker, and currently watch Merlin.

I watched that Simpsons opening with the little gears on buildings and stuff. Is Game of Thrones steam-punk-ish? I pretty much know nothing about this series nor have I read any of the books.

It is not steampunkish. It’s pretty much low-fantasy fantasy (comparable to Harn, if you know what that is, although with even less standard fantasy stuff). The opening just depicts the world as a clockwork orrey and shows the relative locations of the main action for the episode to orient viewers.
