Sorry - But this thread is for people who have read the books, and compare (Spoil), that to the show. Otherwise it would not make sense to have the other thread which has a specific “No Spoilers” tag in it. What would you talk about in that, compared to this one?

If you haven’t read the books, you should be in the other (No spoilers) thread.

I could see the confusion since this thread is titled Game of Thrones (HBO) and not Game of Thrones (The TV and Book Discussion thread). I’d expect this thread to talk about the most recent episode as well as any news about casting of upcoming characters, trailers, interviews, or leaks related to the TV show, and any book comparisons in a thread more clearly marked as a TV and book comparison thread (IIRC this is how it was done for The Walking Dead).

It’s interesting to me the difference in expectations between a game or movie no spoilers thread and a TV no spoilers thread.

In fairness I see where the confusion and frustration arises, I made it a point to read through the majority of the entire thread before I felt it was safe to post speculations.

Just to be clear on something from Sunday’s episode. Am I correct in assuming that babies are sold in bottles in Westboros? If so, do they have 40 oz sizes so you can sit on the stoop and enjoy a baby with friends on a warm summer day?

It seems that they have also killed/ignored the rule about kingsguard not being allowed to marry.

Knowing what’s coming I assumed that the letters Tywin was writing while talking to Cersei were letters to Roose and Walder. I believe there is an allusion to this as well?

Loras isn’t Kingsguard on the show.

I guess this just needs to be repeated every few pages or so.

THIS IS THE MOTHER OF ALL FREAKING GAME OF THRONES SPOILER THREADS.

DON’T EVEN THINK OF PARTAKING IN THIS THREAD IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE LATEST BOOK IN THE SERIES.

I never watch the ending credits so after reading this, I got a shiver up my spine. Now I don’t know if I want to play it or not…damn I love this show.

This thread used to be called “Game of Thrones (HBO) - SPOILERS AHOY”

Why was it renamed “Game of Thrones (HBO)”?

Why isn’t it called “Game of Thrones - SPOILERS FOR ALL BOOKS AND TV EPISODES”?

I’m not aware of the title ever having changed. The other thread used to be used more, so non-book readers naturally went to it. I think maybe True Blood or some other show had the ‘spoilers ahoy’ thread.

This has been a thread of book readers including book spoilers since the beginning. I’m not sure if thread titles can be changed on QT3, but this would be a good thread to retitle.

A good general rule would be to stay away from any internet/forum-activity having anything to do with Game of Thrones unless it’s specifically labeled “NO SPOILERS” - too much good stuff to be ruined by casual exploring.

That was such an insanely minor and useless spoiler that it isn’t anything to get your hackles up and about. That name means absolutely nothing to anyone as he has never been mentioned in the show. Also, there is a thread specifically for book readers. Also, change the title to “no spoilers” somebody.

Or for god’s sake use spoiler tags.

I really have enjoyed the last 2 episodes of the show. They have done such a superb job of really making the whole Jaime character turn work well. Taking a character you thought was a huge douchey dick to a guy who was blamed for doing one of the most courageous and helpful things (killing the Mad King) in the world. Not to mention having the worst dad ever.

One of the best parts of the books is how you basically can’t take any character at face value. Everyone has a story.

Especially the HBO version of Podrick!

I don’t think that’s the case. There is a Game of Thrones, Season 3, Spoiler Thread, though.

Although apparently this thread is the spoiler thread as well.

Even though it’s not in the title. And despite there being the thread you linked.

This really is the spoiler thread. There are two threads for the series as a whole: Games of Thrones on HBO (no spoilers!) (which obviously is the no spoiler thread) and this one, Game of Thrones (HBO) (which can’t be the no spoiler thread if the other is). I just wanted to point out, that there might have been some confusion, due to the third thread, Game of Thrones, Season 3, Spoiler Thread, the one I linked to, which was an attempt to start a new spoiler thread specifically for Season 3 (and which also spoke of starting a new no spoiler thread specifically for Season 3 as well).

I do love how this issue gets brought up every few pages.

The crazy part of this spoiler thing is that the no spoiler thread is on the SAME first page of this forum! That means someone hasn’t even done so much as scan the first page of the forum to see if there’s an appropriate thread for them before jumping in.

I think basic courtesy demands a person make some effort to get to know how the forum is structured before jumping in and getting upset that the thread contains the ‘wrong’ type of information. In the case of spoilers, I think the more hardcore you are about not getting spoiled, the more effort you must put into determining what threads are safe or not.
