I just want GRRM to hurry up and write the last couple of books before he keels over from a myocardial infarction. Being in your mid-60s and Santa Claus-shaped does not bode well.*
*…unless of course he’s actually Santa and thus immortal. ;-)
The three Dragonriders take to the skies and slam right into the center of the orrery that we see in the opening credits.

An interesting article from the director of photography.

For the wedding feast they used just the lighting of the candles and torches.
“I wanted then to move into unusually bright light, by Game of Thrones’ standards, for the feast,” McLachlan continued. “I had the art department add a great deal more candlesticks and torches than they wanted and then, thanks to the new Arri Alexa camera, was able to tip my hat to Stanley Kubrick (in Barry Lyndon) and use only candlelight for the scene, which made it very pretty.”
Also:
Game of Thrones fans numbed by the massacre may feel better once they’ve seen the season finale, McLachlan said.
“I think you’ll agree it goes out on a real high note. There are some scenes there that will provide at least some catharsis for traumatized viewers,” he said. “It has a gorgeous look, with a very uplifting ending.”
I sure hope that that “catharsis” means that Joffrey gets his, finally.

More likely the re-emergence of Catelyn.
The soundtrack became available on iTunes/Amazon on Tuesday. Let’s just say that the stuff Ramin Djawadi wrote for the last episode made me cry, but in a good way.
Perhaps, although neither your suggestion nor mine sound particularly uplifting.
I have to agree, because being dead isn’t the worst thing that happened to her. So being not dead won’t even be close to being ‘uplifting’ in any sense of the word. She’s going to be like Buffy and resent that she was brought back, if anything.
About the only thing close to uplifting I can imagine is something to do with the baby they are carrying out of the frozen north. Babies are always uplifting, except when they are shadow monsters or being killed in front of their mom.
The episode is called Myhsa. It’s one of the most uplifiting moments in the books.
OK, I guess that means “mother” in whatever they speak in Yunkai or Mereen. I remember that scene now.
It’ll have extra meaning in this episode, too!
Why? Because of the consummation of her flirtation with Dario Whatsisbutt?
I see what you did there. man I hated hated that scene.
Because “mother” is a theme that should reverberate in a least one other story line outside of Dany.
Hmm, still not getting the mother angle if it’s not Dany-related. Maybe I haven’t read into Book 4 far enough, or my memory is faulty.
Ah, OK, but I don’t think she’ll be showing up in the next episode.
Making viewers wait a year for unCat to appear is really going to diminish the impact of that scene. Not to mention dilute in most viewers’ memories Dondarrion’s repeated resurrections. If the producers are smart, they end episode 10 with her appearance. It’ll also give viewers a wee bit of satisfaction knowing the BwB is taking out members of the Frey family.
They’ve done everything they needed to do to set up unCat this season. Tullys return to the river when they die, and Beric Dondarrion. If they wait a year, the memories of those (especially the former) will be faded in non-readers’ minds.
Plus, they’re going to need as many good vibes as possible going into the offseason after devastating the non-readers last week. unCat is a perfect “Oh Shit” moment, in a good way. She signals that payback is coming, and I’m sure they’ll be dropping all sorts of hints that the Lannisters are next in line to get mauled.
