The only video I can find that fits some of the clues is this very recent, viral one. It fits clues 1, 2, 4, 5 and 9:

Those guys are cheering because their neighbors’ mosque is on fire? Wow, what a jerk store full of jerks. They should be trying to put out the fire.

This movie also features a bunch of jerks in a very similar longitude, but longer ago.

Somehow I doubt clue 8 is a pointer to The Last Temptation of Christ.

I certainly wouldn’t want to have a political discussion here - I just posted the video as a joke because of clue #2 - Israel has an air defense system called the Iron Dome. I just want to say that we have to be careful with this kind of images: if there is a conflict that is first and foremost a war of images, it’s this one. And there is certainly more to it that what the video shows (not that it necessarily make it any better for the protagonists though).
So if anyone is interested, I can answer private messages and try to explain the context a little bit and/or find relevant articles.

As for our movie, I’m utterly, completely, clueless. The second clue especially puzzles me.

Clue #6, however…

Well - lets see party…
Earth Girls Are Easy?

Nope, not Last Temptation or Earth Girls.

Well, much of that historically impressive culture you are talking about wasn’t really recognised at the time, only later. So who knows what people will think of the current Dutch art in a couple of centuries? 😉

Anyway, other than the music I mentioned, I also think we Dutch produced quite good literature works recently/at the moment. Not sure if much if that is translated though.

I’m going to go out on the same limb and say Hot Tub Time Machine, because I have no clue.

Bachelor Party

Maybe one day, ballet will be replaced by this:

For me, the last century has actually been quite catastrophic for Dutch literature, especially when compared to other European countries of this size or smaller. Books by writers like Mullish, Haase, Wolkers, Hermans are usually available in translation in at least European language.

Maybe it has also something to do with what I perceive as a growing disaffection from your fellow countrymen for the Dutch language. But I may be wrong.

Regarding our movie, I’m still clueless. I’m under the impression we’re looking for a war/historical movie.

Not Hot Tub Time Machine, not Bachelor Party. I haven’t seen either of those and my inner Spuds McKenzie is so disappointed in me.

Definitely historical, as to the war… Kind of postwar, though the Army definitely gets involved.

@Ginger_Yellow, I apologize, I skipped over your guess. But it isn’t Rush.

Here’s what could be the last clue.

  • A gathering of family and friends
  • Iron domes
  • A little off the top
  • lists
  • A very fast record
  • true comradery and false friendships
  • John Wayne and John Ford
  • A resurrection with cocktails
  • These guys KNOW how to PARTY
  • Mister Pink, George Bluth, a Winston Churchill, and a Python cluster around a casket.

(Plus the other clues, it’s a post World War 2 historical movie about a bunch of jerks set in a city that’s nearly in the same longitude (but not latitude!) as Jerusalem.)

I had that movie in mind due to the lists and comradery clues at one point, but I’m still scratching my head over some of the clues. Can’t come up with something new right now, so I won’t guess.

Oh God! Could it be The Death of Stalin?

edit: I’m now 100% certain it is! “comradery” … “party” … I’m ashamed it didn’t ring a bell earlier!

Oh crap. It totally is - I LOVE that movie and totally missed it.

I’m still confused about clues #2, #3 and #7 though (#7, I know I should know, but don’t remember it).

#2 I assume is the Kremlin Domes?
#7 is the cowboy movies that Stalin love (and calls out whom they toast - Long Live John Wayne and John Ford)

Probably, although those Domes are golden.

Ah yes! Right!

I think my favourite think about that movie was to hear many of these Russians speaking with an English accent. That, and Zhukov.

Wow, didn’t even cross my mind it could be that movie (until the last clue obviously).

I literally just watched that movie in the last week and missed it.
