The Book of Eli?

Nope, this book is unlocked and read well before the third act!

Evil Dead?

Great movie - but not this one.

Your next element:
-Swallowed by a Storm
-Religious Pluralist?
-Unfortunate Bookshelves
-Locked Book (that is unlocked and read well before the third act)
-Interrupted Hanging
-Fez

Indiana Jones!

Excellent guess - but there were no bookshelves Featured in Raiders of The Lost Ark, let alone Unfortunate Bookshelves.

Damn! I’ve just realized that I was mixing up two movies in my mind. So, I now think it is the other one.

The Mummy (1999)?

Either Brendan Fraser’s publicist has been working overtime or we are in the dawning of a Brendanssance Fraserssance. I’ve seen more references to him online in the last year than I have in the last twenty years. (Though if your movie isn’t The Mummy, then I guess I have too much Fraser on the brain.)

ding! It is indeed The Mummy (1999 edition)!

-Swallowed by a Storm - as in the plane they were in are literally swallowed by his mouth projected into the sandstorm
-Religious Pluralist? - the mummy’s eventual lacky responds to him at first by getting out and trying every religious symbol/prayer he can think of (which he just carries around)
-Unfortunate Bookshelves - Evie manages to knock over massive book shelves at the museum library like they’re dominoes
-Locked Book (that is unlocked and read well before the third act) - She also unlocks the Book of The Dead. Oops.
-Interrupted Hanging - Brendan Fraser’s character is rescued from a hanging… after a minute or so of strangulation after it fails to break his neck.
-Fez - the guy who is supposed to be protecting the Book wears a Fez.

I suppose Mr Fraser is having a bit of a renaissance, but in this case I picked it by looking at my dusty shelf of DVDs for a mainstream movie that hadn’t been done yet. This was the first I found :)

I had exactly that scene, but for some reason, I initially thought it belonged to Raiders (in which John Rhys-Davies also wears a fez).

I haven’t see The Mummy since 99. Do the CGI still hold up today?

I’ll have to rewatch it sometime. In my memory, it’s either fine or there’s a lot more practical effects than CGI.

Here’s the next one (thanks for waiting):

  • blue peas
  • a very unusual log cabin
  • a one word message that is even more relevant today.
  • It’s not a biker gang
  • calipers

I have to think if I had seen the movie those clues would bring it to mind, but it’s not ringing any bells.

Maybe this will help?

  • an uncomfortable restroom experience

Well we’ve already done Dreamcatcher…

Haha, no, it wasn’t that, uh, fatal. It’s not Dreamcatcher again!

No other guesses?

  1. blue peas
  2. a very unusual log cabin
  3. a one word message that is even more relevant today.
  4. It’s not a biker gang
  5. calipers
  6. an uncomfortable restroom experience
  7. a Beverly Hills mishap

Nope, I’m afraid that:

  1. the main character is quite American (and the title of the movie is one of his professions, or should I say one of his passions.)

The Accountant? Pretty sure I haven’t seen this movie, so I might as well guess one I haven’t seen.

No, sorry, not The Accountant!.
