Once upon a time in the West?

Yes! l knew this one wouldn’t take long. One of my all time favorites. ls it the combination of windmill sound and trains that made you think of it?

It was one of the first movies I thought of, but I didn’t even have Henry Fonda in mind but Charles Bronson, who I assumed played some baddies in the beginning of his career. It finally clicked when I came to the realization that there other types of windmills than the Dutch kind.

l think that is the only time in his career Henry Fonda played a villain. He actually showed up on set with brown contact lenses, but Leone told him he preferred Frank to have Fonda’s blue eyes. That worked quite well!

l wasn’t actually sure how to call that. But that sound at the beginning of the movie is so great, it’s almost part of the soundtrack for me.

Regarding the other clues:

  1. Sergio Leone, Dario Argento and Bernardo Bertolucci all worked together to write the script
  2. When asked who he is, Harmonica answers with names of men Frank killed.
  3. The one at the beginning; Morton’s train; the train that would make McBain rich.
  1. Sun
  2. Cigarette
  3. Demolition hammer
  4. Rabbit
  5. Earrings

Con Air?

It’s not Con Air. On the bright side, I just googled how the last clue might fit and found this:

Donnie Darko?

Not Donnie Darko.

  • Sun
  • Controversial Cigarette
  • Demolition hammer
  • Rabbit
  • Earrings

Because of the third clue, l cannot think of anything else than Total Recall.

It’s not Total Recall

  • Sun
  • Controversial Cigarette
  • Demolition hammer
  • Rabbit
  • Earrings
  • Steam bath

Eastern Promises?

lt obviously works for the steam bath. The sun may be the one Mortensen has tattooed on his hand. He keeps smoking throughout the movie, and l vaguely remember there is something about it when they are butchering a dead body.

How do you see the other clues fit? Especially the jackhammer?

For some reason, even though l cannot nail most of the clues, l have a good feeling about your guess.

How do you see the other clues fit?

I don’t - it’s been a long time since I saw it. Just tossed it as a hail Mary after the steam bath item.

Good guess, and at least partially it’s not far off.

The big question here is ‘What is a controversial cigarette?’

  • Sun
  • Controversial Cigarette
  • Demolition hammer
  • Rabbit
  • Earrings
  • Steam bath
  • Intense combing

Rebel WIthout a Cause?

Not that

Great, now I’m never gonna think of James Dean again without imagining him doing some “intense combing.”
