Never seen it… but based off the title, my dim recollection of the trailer, and clue #1 - Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story

Not The Lobster, not Stand By Me, and not Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, I’m afraid.

  • A lot of walking
  • blanking out
  • king of the humans
  • sisters of mercy
  • reunions
  • circle chats
  • a trilogy capper

Return of the King?

Matrix Revolutions?

Nope, not Matrix Revolutions and still not Return of the King.

Even though I can’t make most of the clues work, my very first association was actually Mad Max Fury Road. With that last clue I guess I’ll give it a shot.

Nope, sorry, not Mad Max Fury Road. This one is only a little bit post-apocalyptic. Hey, I could make that the next clue.

  • A lot of walking
  • blanking out
  • king of the humans
  • sisters of mercy
  • reunions
  • circle chats
  • a trilogy capper
  • almost all of the movie is pre-apocalyptic. The post-apocalyptic bit is at the end.

Terminator 3?

War for the Planet of the Apes?

Nope, not T3 or WftPotA.

Army of Darkness?

Another terrific guess, but I never saw the director’s cut of Army of Darkness where Ash overslept and woke up in a dark future, so no, it’s another movie.

Bellying up to the next clue:

  • A lot of walking
  • blanking out
  • king of the humans
  • sisters of mercy
  • reunions
  • circle chats
  • a trilogy capper
  • almost all of the movie is pre-apocalyptic. The post-apocalyptic bit is at the end.
  • a series of businesses with names that lie on the continuum of “ironic” and “in retrospect, accurately descriptive”.

lt has to be a comedy, but l have no idea whatsoever.

Well, I haven’t seen it, but there aren’t many dystopian corporate satire trilogies, so Robocop 3?

The three Robocop movies being set in Detroit, everything is post-apocalyptic about them…

Nope, not any of the RoboCop movies…

The World’s End ?

Oh goddammit that’s it, isn’t?
