Did not like the Co-Op attempt at a live show. It wasn’t bad, and I’m sure it’ll improve, but since I don’t watch it live, all I get is worse production values. And those guys always made it look professional.

New Idle Thumbs was awesome, as expected. Looking forward to hearing more. I thought Steve did a great job and really didn’t miss Nick that much.

I just can’t get into Idle Thumbs, I find it far too meandering. All the internet love makes me keep giving it another shot and I keep coming away with the same opinion.

If you don’t like meandering, it’s not for you.

We’ve kind of had this discussion before and I honestly don’t blame people who like a more focused podcast, but I love shows like Idle Thumbs, Giant Bombcast and the old GFW and CGW Radio shows. Admittedly, it becomes less a games podcast with some funny stuff than it is a comedy podcast with some gaming connections, but I’m okay with that.

I listen to podcasts while I’m playing games like WoW that don’t require a whole lot of reading. Anyway, I was playing on friday while I was listening to Idle Thumbs, and at one point (I can’t remember) I actually started laughing out loud. My roommates were scared and asked me what. I didn’t bother explaining.

A good podcast is just like a good conversation with friends, and there’s basically nothing I enjoy more than that.

Important difference - the Giant Bombcast actually has an agenda. Idle Thumbs is just three hilarious guys who I wish were my close personal friends and for whom I will one day by matching shirts and hats and perhaps snazzy ties. Bombcast tends to wander around a lot, but they do hit 1. Whatcha Been Playin’; 2. News of the World; 3. New Releases; 4. Emails.

That’s the only difference I can perceive, however, unless it’s just plain not loving Chris and Jake and now Hot Scoops. They tend to have the same number of highs for me, but Bombcast takes two and a half hours to get there sometimes.
