I just like that this show had a ‘preview’ of that activision space shuttle game… I got that game as a xmas gift from my dearly departed dad when i was a kid… he probably thought i’d learn something about something! actually i did! that game got me into jets and flight sims… and astronomy…oh nostalgia.
pc gaming can be solitary bliss at its best when its good.
I knew I would called on that :)
I don’t have a good example, but that’s because its more of a feeling than any sort of specific behaviour.
Also, I enjoy different takes on things as well (including Jeff’s) but I sometimes get annoyed by gamers who seem like they don’t actually like games.
More to the point, they said that X-Wing vs Tie Fighter was the most recent game in the series.
Also, and more oddly, one of them claimed that SSX 3 was the third game in that series. Um, no :/

This made me laugh. I don’t watch TRS either. Though I do enjoy Diggnation.
SSX, SSX Tricky, SSX 3, SSX On Tour, SSX Blur, isn’t it?
Just started listening to the latest Weekend Confirmed. It’s nice to hear Billy Berghammer on the podcast. Does anyone know what the heck happened with him at G4? I don’t think I’ve ever heard him discuss why he was let go. It’s a bummer because he seems like a good guy.
I thought that G4 had to contract in general back during the darkest of the recent dark days, when they shifted from nightly X-Play to only a few nights a week. That’s just me pulling vague memories out of my butt, though.
Yeah, but they hired Patrick Klepeck, Sterling McGarvey, and Andrew Pfister after that, didn’t they?
That’s how I remember it. Maybe Sam and the Firefly is counting some kind of handheld game or something?
Oh hang on, I’m an idiot!
SSX3 is the third game in the series, that’s what I meant to say. The dude on the podcast said it was the fourth, though! He thought SSX2 and Tricky were different games.

Y’see, everyone makes mistakes.
MSUSteve not liking Albrecht for his hair made me laugh. One day he’s going to catch an episode of Top Chef and absolutely lose his goddamn mind.
This makes me realize that I am a jerk. I was going to say that I didn’t like Albrecht AND I didn’t like his hair, but then couldn’t come up with a reason why I didn’t like the guy other than his hair (and the constant devil horns sign he made while in the Blue Angel jet) and concluded that I’m an asshole. I pledge to give Albrecht a fair shot despite his stupid hair!
No…his behavior pretty much fits the hair. I think of him as the guy nerd version of Tila Tequila - he sort of gets what’s funny about him, but he sort of doesn’t, because he still plays it straight. I’m not sure whether I respect him for it or not and I’ve been watching him for a year. I don’t hate him, but he definitely acts like a guy with a douchey hairstyle. Sort of like Brian Brushwood with the opposite kind of charisma, if that makes any sense at all.
It helps me, though, that he and I have somewhat similar taste in television.

Does he? He seems friendly to everyone. Maybe our definitions of douche are different.
Anyway, I’m sure you’re not a jerk Steve, but judging someone by their hair is a bit of a jerk move.

Albrecht seems like a very nice guy. I just don’t want to see him on the podcast.
I dunno, I think an absent-minded typo is definitely less of a big deal than not having the history of the entire SSX series committed to memory. What a wannabe.
SSX3 is certainly the peak (…) of the series, though, I’m sure we can all agree on that.

I’ve heard “super-fun” about a gajillion times this week on many podcasts. That’s like saying “extra tasty”. PLEASE STOP!
I have to disagree here. I thought Cannata was the only voice of reason (though Billy supported him) during the Bioshock 2 discussion. Leahy’s statement that the combat in Bioshock 2 is mechanically unsound was ridiculous. The shooting in Bioshock 2 is excellent, and indeed, much better than Bioshock 1. Mechanics wise, I think Bioshock 2 beats the hell out of Bioshock 1. I can understand not being as enamored with the sequel because the setting is a known quantity, but to attack the base mechanics of the game as bad is ridiculous to me.
I also thought the “scoring” of the Four Minute Warning segment was extremely dumb.
