Not necessarily. You ask her to come help you get something from the other room and you have a quiet talk with her, or somebody takes the bullet for the team and drags her out of the room for a beer run or some other such ridiculous excuse to get her away from the recording equipment. You don’t have to loudly proclaim on camera that her bitchiness is rapidly outpacing her sex appeal and she should get her fat ass back to anywhere where any person gives a shit what she has to say to accomplish the goal of removing her from the broadcast. Politely handling it somewhere away from the recording equipment might be awkward in the future if she’s, you know, dating one of your friends or doesn’t take it well after she sobers up and regains her faculties, but there’s no need to have it out on the air to accomplish the goal. If she wants herself to be taken seriously as a journalist (which she seems to), she should THANK the person who does that for her.

The live thing is an issue, and I forgot about that. It would certainly make it more complicated.

Troy

What was really irresponsible was when they let her borrow Ryan’s car when she said she had to pick up her sister’s kids from school.

So, listened to last week’s GameSpy Debriefings. Yeah… Stopped listening about the time they started talking about E3 booth models covered in semen. And then unsubscribed. No thanks.

Listening even to what I did I could tell that Anthony was really frustrated with Frick and Frack (I don’t even know their names; the would-be funny guys) and Will had either left or was just sitting back with his fingers in his ears. Anthony tried to seize control and get them to move on to any one of the many E3 topics to talk about, but they totally ignored him. Beyond disrespectful, just walking right over him. I have to wonder what the interpersonal dynamic is like there.

I was really high on the Debriefings after a couple where the foreigner questions and Threadless t-shirt ideas were featured heavily. What I’ve heard since then has not been particularly funny or enjoyable.

“Not particularly funny” doesn’t begin to describe it. It’s embarrassing.

I haven’t heard the most recent episode, but I’m thinking back to the episode where they were talking about some big parade or something in San Francisco and one of the guys was all pumped that his girlfriend was pole dancing, topless, on a parade float. The guy couldn’t figure out why Ryan and Anthony didn’t think that was awesome. It was pretty gross.

Yeah, it got a lot worse with the most recent one. It’s almost like they’re trying to kill the podcast or to see what they can get away with before it gets canceled. They’ve kind of hinted at as much.

I was crying laughing at those couple of foreign guy/Threadless episodes. It’s too bad they’re ruining that little spark they had with those couple of episodes. It reminds me a little of when I used to listen to the IGN podcasts way back. For a while they were funny, but then they fell in love with their own shtick and it became unbearable to listen to.

I liked the Threadless stuff. This latest podcast is pretty bad, but not just for the sex content. Hearing someone name something at E3 and then having some guy (maybe Bromley) just shout about how much it sucks gets pretty boring after a while.

Pssh. I laughed quite a bit at the E3 Debriefings.

I’d like to thank this thread for getting me on to idle thumbs…

This terrific podcast has decimated nearly all other (now lesser) podcasts with the exception of Giant bomb and Qt3.

Funny and insightful sum it up, while i don’t agree with all their opinions (such as chris’ hatred of Prince of Persia) they are all about having good discussion and gaining new or alternate perspectives on games. It’s kind of reminiscent of GFW.

Speaking of remnants, Rebel FM is now, in the words of Jeremy Irons in Die Hard, “shit to me”.

Anyway video games

I still like Rebel FM, even though I hated Arthur at the beginning. But now I like the whole crew, mainly because their opinions are so unpredictable. And there isn’t enough podcasts with literal cat fighting.

And count me in on the hating Leigh Alexander on the Bombcast. They should bring her back on, but sober, to make amends and show us she isn’t the “number dyslexic” loud mouth she comes off as every year. I am sure she is a very nice and fun in person when she is drunk, but that was straight up bad radio.

Really? REALLY?

…no. But if you were drunk, and she was drunk, maybe then she would be better, right? I mean, we all can get carried away when we get tipsy, and she sounded smashed.

I am maybe just a “Leigh Alexander” optimist, but I give her the benefice of my doubt. But I think I heard her on 1up Yours once, and she was also annoying… Maybe she was again, drunk?

NAZI UNIFORMS ARE SEXY AND WERE MADE BY HUGO BOSS!!

Wonder if she thinks the concentration camp pajamas looked comfy…

For me, being an ass when you’re drunk isn’t nearly as obnoxious as being belligerently defensive when you’re sober.

I’m starting to hedge on the the Gamespy Debriefings. I like Ryan and Anthony and even if both of them seem tolerant of it, it’s annoying to hear them berated endlessly by Scott and the other guy. I’m sure some would listen and say ‘they’re just having fun’, but man, sometimes the laying into of Ryan doesn’t sound funny. It just sounds like he’s being bullied. Listening to Scott (and the other guy) go on about comedy is a little weird, too. They’re funny enough when they’re riffing on something with other people, but I’ve yet to read anything they’ve written that was particularly amusing.

Yeah the whole Ryan is a robot thing is getting kind of old.

Ryan should start making fun of them for bringing up League of Legends every week, since I don’t think he’s mentioned it at all for a good two plus months but it still gets dragged out there as if he’s the one doing it.

He knows better than to bring it up. He still plays it; that’s the important thing.

Ryan gets made fun of on both Geekbox and Debriefings, and it’s with good reason. He nerds it up over a few games and neglects most of them. He writes new games off after about 10 minutes of play. I’m always going to enjoy hearing him, but he deserves everything he gets.
