Not so much that as having no internal deliberation mechanism. He speaks as he thinks, and before he can really evaluate the merit of a thought.

With the exception of transitions, for which he is a savant. For all his faults, he really can produce a show.

Yeah, I enjoy listening to Weekend Confirmed on the whole. Have no real issue with the music he selects and his ability to push things along when topics have been discussed for a while.

Just sometimes he says Flower should be $200.

I don’t have a problem with him as a personality or his opinions. I just don’t understand how a guy who is ostensibly supposed to know what he’s talking about can be so clearly, fundamentally incorrect on the factual basis of something he’s saying. It’s one of the things that annoyed me about TRS the first time I watched it (though I can’t remember what they were factually wrong about at this point). It just baffles me.

On the plus side, new Idle Thumbs, so I’ll have to check if that downloaded or if my catcher server broke again.

It’s like saying you’re stuck with some wimpy replacement sword for multiple missions when you can in fact reclaim all your good stuff within a minute of getting the wimpy replacement sword.

In light of recent conversation, the blurb from this weekn’s MobCast is giving me mixed emotions: “In this episode, The Geekbox’s Andrew Fitch and A Life Well Wasted’s Robert Ashley join Bitmob’s Greg Ford and Aaron Thomas.”

At least there’s no mention of Dan “Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow is the best game ever and I’m going to mention it in literally every single episode that I’m on while pretending like it’s new to the audience” Hsu.

I find Tom’s “smart guy who is awful at games” angle more refreshing.

Just poking fun at Tom. Garnett’s insistence that other Diablo type games have had regenerating health is so wildly off base that it’s in a completely different category than Tom’s missing the orcs (orques?) by the dumpster. I can’t believe that neither Cannata nor Leahy corrected Garnett on that. I’d have thought both of those guys would have known that neither Diablo game had regenerating health.

Garnett is a great podcast host and a terrible game reviewer. That’s not exactly news. :)

Hey Adree! We get it! We get that you don’t like Idle Thumbs that much! You can stop now! Weirdly, other people have different opinions than you! I’ve got an idea, too; how about you…drumroll…stop listening to it?!

Seriously, your opinion has been noted.

I can’t tell if Adree is referring to himself or DoomMunky as the hater who is going to hate.

I can see where Adree is coming from re: Idle Thumbs. Plenty of other casts get bashed in here on a weekly basis; nothing wrong with trashing this one.

To be fair I like a lot of their commentary, and there is usually 10-15 minutes of good game discussion in the midst of people saying videogames or wizards randomly.

But they are so charming!

Most podcast geeks seem to aim for incisive, snarky wit, but end up sounding like angsty sophomores. Idle Thumbs are self-aware doofs who often make fun of their own dumb jokes.

Your cheesy uncle who tells you corny jokes because they are corny.

I love Idle Thumbs, but Adree is totally right about that Sploision Man comment. I think Remo thought it was ridiculous too, he just didn’t come right out and say it.

It’s too bad none of them have played it. Truly one of the best co-op games I’ve played in years!

The Idle Thumbs guys need to learn not to talk over each other. Also, the story about the happiest little robot on Moon Base Alpha cracked me the hell up.

See that, that I liked. And it was genuinely funny.

Yeah, Chris’ goofy anecdotes about ‘this totally weird thing that happened’ tend to be the highlights for me.
