And it was the last one, except for the PAX panel.

(It was pretty decent though.)

Tim Schafer linked to a Games Radar podcast, and I listened to some of it.
I do not have nearly enough ADD for this shit.

This is depressing to think about, but the podcasts I think of as “the gaming podcasts” are probably the best 10% of all dudes talking into microphones

Garnett: sometimes you’re better off just shutting up.

Yeah, Games Radar’s TalkRadar is super-long, and they refuse to post details about the course of the three hours of conversation. Pretty annoying. They have some good moments, but I don’t see how anyone employed or in school can have time for them.

What has he done now?

Well he sure talks a lot in the new Weekend Confirmed!

Well, he is the host of a weekly two hour podcast. Talking a lot is expected.

Is there something he said in particular? I’m about halfway through and haven’t noticed anything egregious.

It’s more towards the end that he starts making some really crappy jokes, interrupts the other guy - stuff like that.

It was a decent enough episode though.

Yeah, that sounds about right. He’s pretty much like that every episode. His determination to not only avoid dead air but to keep conversations moving at a fast pace is both a good and bad thing.

No one mentioned the Black Dragon popping in to the Geekbox this past week.

Jeff has a habit of popping in on podcasts the week that my favorite member of that podcast is gone, though. First Vinny, now Karen. Clearly this means we need a Jeff Green, Karen Chu, Vinny Caravella podcast.

Also, Alice Liang taking over for Fitch? Hells yes. I love Alice. The combination of Alice Liang and Karen Chu will make the Geekbox spatzi’s #1 podcast for all time!

I might actually give Geekbox a whirl with that lineup.

Really disappointed with Giant Bombcast’s tonedeaf response to the accusations of sexism in Metroid. Or rather, Ryan Davis’ response and the rest of the crew’s general agreement. Ryan’s insistence that this is deeper character development and that fans can’t ‘have it both ways’ is pretty bad. I mean, it seems to suggest he thinks that the only deeper development they could give her was weeping all over the place when a dude she’s killed before gives her sass. Following that up with the suggestion that Samus is basically a male character, so they had to add this to make her a female kind of explains why the guy is single. If the definition of a woman is ‘a man, but with more crying’, no wonder he can’t be bothered.

Jeff didn’t sound like he necessarily agreed, but he didn’t speak up to say much of anything.

Is he single? They’ve mentioned his long-time girlfriend on the show a few times.

I’d blame his morbid obesity first. Brad Nicholson’s little spiel about his gym routine was the second time I’ve heard physical activity discussed on a Bombcast. The first was Jeff Gerstmann talking about his PokeWalker.

Oh. Huh.

Does she cry a lot?

Just got out of the last Idle Thumbs podcast. It was the best end to the show anyone could have asked for. Weird to see them all talking in front of you though. I hope that Chris’s singing makes it into the cast.

With the demise of both Idle Thumbs and the QT3 games podcast … what should I be replacing them with? I already subscribe to Three Moves Ahead, Gamers With Jobs, and Jumping the Shark, and need more literate games criticism.

I like Giant Bombcast myself, and the IGN GameScoop and Gamespy Debrief are funny (if not necessarly informative). PC Gamer is good too.

No spoilers, but the story that wrapped up the last Idle Thumbs could not be a more perfect bow to tie up an epic podcast series :-D

Does anyone else listen to the PC Gamer UK podcast? Its a good monthly-ish podcast, one of the only ones I’ve found that scratches that Idle Thumbs itch. Plus they are British, which I always find hilarious.

I’ve listened a half hour of the PC Gamer US podcast, it sounded like they had cloned the simpson teen a few times and then hit record.
