God… Radiolab is so effing good.

I would totally listen to Geekbox if they replaced Fitch with Jeff Green. That dude just irritates me so goddamn much.

They replaced Fitch with Alice Liang. She ain’t Jeff Green, but I still like her.

About time the Bombcast had some half decent discussion on Minecraft.

They were kind of dismissive of it, though.

Eh, Jeff and Ryan at least spent a few hours screwing with it, so I think it’s plenty of time to make some judgments. Actually my experience perfectly mirrored theirs, and I enjoyed hearing from someone else who appreciates minecraft without loving it.

Between that, the civ 5 talk, and discussions of backing up old PC hard drives this week’s Bombcast was set in a parallel universe where only PC gaming exists. I enjoyed it :)

We interviewed Notch for our podcast today, actually. Will be appending it to tomorrow’s episode.

The Minecraft chatting seems to have spread to Geekbox and GWJ also. Took them long enough!

I was happy to hear them discuss it too, but it was only half decent since they didn’t mention that there are actually monsters in the game until the last 30 seconds of the conversation.

Jeff and Ryan can be kinda stand offish about certain things.

Jeff is one of those people that “Doesn’t like the beatles”

uggh.

A new episode of Out of the Game just started downloading for me on iTunes.

Thanks for the update. I had removed it from my feed reader.

That last Out of the Game was pretty good. Some pretty interesting talk about the practicalities of speaking critically of other people in your own industry topped off with a hilarious last few minutes of shit talking.

Speaking of the Bombcast, I appreciate how Jeff just steps aside and lets the others talk about Civ V without interrupting or making dumb jokes or whatever. He realizes that they’re into it and that he has nothing to contribute, so he just listens to the conversation. On a lot of other podcasts the guy that’s not into whatever the others are talking about (sports games, driving games, etc.) always seems to feel the need to make noise and foul up the discussion.

I noticed this as well. They seem to be very self aware. I was just thinking that the main dude(don’t know what his name is) is too loud and interruptive. Then, from the next episode, his mic is quieter and he’s letting others speak much more.

Yes indeed. I’m trying to get them to give a talk at my office about effective science communication.

Finally getting around to listening to last weeks Bombcast. The part about old PC parts is great.

Chris Remo and Ken Levine interview Kieron Gillen

For those that care.

My favorite podcast ended today.

The death of a podcast. It’s terribly sad. It’s like a little death you suffer on your own. I imagine that typically, nobody you know in person shares the like of a nerdy gaming podcast with you. So you just sit there quietly as the little voices piping out of your earphones taper off and then disappear into silence, forever.

So what happened to Out of the Game being a regular weekly thing?
