If Jeff doesn’t like something, he’ll definitely say so. I was pretty surprised about how much he hated Epic Mickey, for example. Jeff’s tastes tend to be in line with mine too, so his recommendations carry a lot of weight, though his dislike of Just Cause 2 still mystifies me.
I agree with you that Brian was consistently Comic Book Guy, but I guess I sorta liked that about him. He was the voice of the hardcore message board troll, but for whatever reason I still liked him.
I know, right? I figure that’s what I recollect the most when I say he can surprise me. The fact that he didn’t like it at all is my mystification.
The show actually just came up on my queue while I was running an errand, coincidentally, and Billy Berghammer seems to be taking up permanent residence. I’d heard him on Weekend Confirmed before, and I really enjoy him on the show. He’s got an personable, mellow, mostly-unhyperbolic tone - kinda puts me in mind of the more classic geek-types, those bespectacled, bearded, plump engineers of the seventies. Compared against the more squealy, anxious image I have of the modern nerd.
Is that the guy who was on the most recent one from last Friday? If so, I like him for no other reason than he was continuously needling Garnett.

I like Jeff so I may check out WC. During my thinking of this post, I downloaded the last episode of TRS (have not watched in 1-2 years) and wow, Jeff needs to lose the facial hair. Also the show is completely different, and at first glance, I like it. Thanks TRS dudes!
In response to everybody else on the show making the horrible decision to cut what was occasionally the best and frequently the worst part of the Bombcast, Jeff Gerstmann is proud to bring you Nintendo Download X-Press, in which he reads the downloads for Nintendo platforms.
I haven’t listened yet, but this week includes Animal Boxing and Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time. How can that be bad?
Jeff and I must be the only people on the planet who loved the Nintendo downloadable shit.

No way, Nintendownloadz 4 lyfe. Actually I thought it was popular with the listeners, but that Jeff and the others burned out on doing it every week. I guess it was just the other guys then?
I thought it was amusing enough - but mostly while I engaged in something else already, so only the most bizarre shit would catch my attention.
It’s at the end of the show, in any case, so I’m not sure why anyone would have a problem.
I think it was Ryan Davis that really hated it and since the Bombcast seems to be his baby, the Nintendo download list went. I was never a big fan, but I have to admit it was good for a laugh once in a while.
As for the Totally Rad Show, I’ve never been able to get into it. I like Jeff Cannata a lot (and his beard is luxurious) but I don’t care for the other two guys at all.
Same here. It was always great with a guest (like Jeff Green) who was incredulous at how crappy dl’s were and that they were actually reading the list.
Thanks for telling me about NintenDownload; just subscribed.
I really wish Jumping the Shark worked with Podcaster. It’s not that I don’t want to pay the $2 for their specific app. I just hate that I can listen to every other podcast that I follow with Podcaster.

I wasn’t familiar with the app until now, but we’ll see if we can get the show added to its directory.
EDIT: Brandon just submitted our feed “for review,” so hopefully it’ll be up there soon. None of us have iPhones, so let us know if/when Jumping the Shark shows up in their directory. Hopefully it won’t take long. :)

Much appreciated.
You guys (and gal) do a great job with the podcast. Small token of appreciation I guess, but I did buy your app just now, even though I won’t need to use it. I hope all of the money gets back to you folks. Keep up the great work.
Dear lord, I just listened to it. It’s better when he doesn’t have to sit through two hours of pre-show.
He wants to have a special guest next week. Please, please, please let that be Jeff Green. Every week.
I’d listen to it every week if Jeff Green was on.

We’ll definitely try. Glad you (and the others of you here who have commented) enjoy the show!
I’m so happy Ryan put his foot down and killed that segment from the regular podcast. It had run its course long, long ago. I had gotten to the point where I fast forwarded through it unless I was driving.
Interesting comments this week viz a viz our “What does the Giantbomb org chart look like?” discussion earlier. Everybody seemed to refer to Jeff as “the boss” during that discussion of the Nintendo segment. Couldn’t quite be sure how much of that was in jest, though.

Huh? I listen to it with Podcaster. I’m several podcasts behind but I just looked, I have up to Episode 52 downloaded and ready to play. I’ve had them for a while with podcaster, at least 3 months or so.
edit: so I looked at podcaster and there is a place to import a URL if it’s not listed in the directory - perhaps that’s what I did? I don’t remember at this point but it definately works.
edit2: looked again, the feed is listed as http://gameshark.libsyn.com/rss
It’s pretty hilarious that Jeff made his own podcast just for the Nintendo releases. Especially after laughing at the idea on the regular Bombcast. Oh Jeff, you wacky guy you.
I second the idea of getting Jeff Green on there with him every week. They could call it The Jeff Show. Nyah.
