We are overdue for a sports management show - it’s been a while.
Troy
Troy named the three Paradox properties he was representing from the outset, one of which was Warlock. Not sure how much clearer he could’ve been.
Thanks. That must have (literally) gone in one ear and out the other. Apologies on that point.

That was a good discussion actually, although one that did kinda make my point about Danielle for me (literally nothing to add except repeating other people’s punchlines). Hmm, that sounds mean. It probably is, which means I doubt a change of format is going to make the show work for me.
But yeah, it was a good discussion. Troy is gold. I have the 3MA one lined up for immediately after.
I skipped the 3MA Paradox show because I didn’t want to taint my own property. But Rob, Dan and Jenn did a fine job.
Troy
Second topic of the show I thought Danielle was great. Bill made a bunch of curmudgeonly and ill-supported points, and she refuted the shit out of him.

The bit where Bill was talking about big companies and Danielle tried to talk about Indie devs?
That one :)
Come on I totally won that debate!
And for the record I wasn’t trying to paint Troy into a corner. I’m still having a hell of a hard time wrapping my head around “Troy the PR guy” and “Troy my really good friend”. That discussion would have been the same having drinks together talking games. Well, maybe not that “get me a new build, wench!” part. I thoroughly enjoyed that.

I’ve really been enjoying a podcast hosted by Dave called Nuclear Clown Radio. Anyone else listen to that? It’s not strictly a gaming podcast because he talks about all kinds of things, but it’s mainly movie and game reviews, with some wrestling discussion (which I’m not interested in). Not all of his shows are great but they usually cause me to laugh out loud at some point. I get the sense that he doesn’t have a large audience, which is a shame. His website is nuclearclown.com and he’s on iTunes.
Jumping the Shark may be leaving Gameshark, perhaps necessitating a name change, Mr. Wm. Abner announces at the end of the latest installment.
Just let us know where you’re moving, Bill. I’ll keep listening. (But please get Danielle a better microphone).
Appreciated. Thanks.
Most likely what will happen is that we simply move the podcast from Gameshark to No High Scores. It’s a better fit there anyway. Plus I need to get Barnes back on the show.
We’re still working out the details, but we’re going to continue the show regardless.

I panicked for a second when I read Jumping the Shark may be leaving Gameshark. Good to hear it will still be around as I really enjoy it. Please get Barnes on the show, as he’s always interesting.
I started listening to the 3MA podcasts after checking out the Risk: Legacy one, and I really enjoy them even though I’m not much of a strategy gamer. There’s a good overall radio presence, and it has the pleasant “listening to experts talk about their field” thing which I find interesting even when I don’t share the expertise.
Of course, this means I’m listening to a podcast about strategy gaming, which my wife says may be the nerdiest thing I’ve ever done.
You mean, other than commenting on an internet forum about listening to a strategy gaming podcast?

JTS Moan of the Week (it should be Brian or Pogo doing this): If you’re going to rant about Diablo 3’s lack of customisation and builds, it’s probably a good idea to mention the skill runes, given how big a role they play in building your own character…
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Having said that, I thought they weren’t in the beta (to any meaningful extent) so it’s hard to know what the impact’s going to be other than taking Blizzard’s word for it.
They aren’t in the beta no, but they should be a big part of customizing your build, along with equipment and in particular your choice of passive skills and the choices you make when you are customizing your follower (plus choosing a follower, since there are … three, I think?) plus what gems to socket, stuff like that. Did they mention any of that in that podcast? I un-sub’d some time ago, so I haven’t heard it.

No, they didn’t. They mentioned sockets very briefly (like one line).
