Obviously, the only reason anyone likes a female writer is because they want to bone her.
By which I mean: If I’d got drunk on a podcast and posted an apology on mine, I’d have got people being similarly supportive. Most people read your blog because they’re fans. Would you have said that was based around wanting to fuck me? No, you bloody wouldn’t.
KG
Well, you’re going to have to wait until I’m really drunk on a podcast. That doesn’t happen more than once a twice a month.
KG
I only read your blog because I want to fuck you. Have you seen yourself? Dreamy.
I’m only 1/2 way through the Leigh episode, she is obviously smart and has thought alot about the things she is talking about, she just needs to slow down and allow a conversation to happen around them. She had good insight into virtual worlds for instance (that the buzz around crap like 2Life is generated by people who have financial stake in them - “terrible people” as Vinnie or Jeff (hard to tell sometimes) kept saying ). But she refuses to let any air into the conversation and bulldozes her points into the ground. I also thought the RE sexuality thing was okay, and it could have been great, as a conversation. Not so interesting as a monologue by a drunken geek girl who squeeee wants to see her favoritist emo japanese game boys kiss in games.
I will report back when I’ve had a chance to listen to the rest.
Courage.
If anyone actually wants to fuck me, I’m willing to do it. Like, for money.

Five bucks, and you have to podcast it, too.
This is worthless without pictures! ;)
Why do you think I’m known as Kieron Fucking Gillen?

Word on the street says it aint because you like “the club”.
Almost finished the Leigh Alexander podcast. Meh. She would have been fine if she would have stopped yelling (not at people, I think that might be her normal speaking voice/volume) and let other people talk. Nice bit at the end of her appearance when the boys just start riffing on “gothic” while she natters on and on and on. She has her enthusiasms (not ones I share) but can defend them just fine.
The thing I have noticed about the bombcast is that they are rarely rude to each other and other people. While a couple of the boys are a bit hefty and at least one of them has some weird hair going on, they don’t call it out to make fun of it, even when they are talking about food. Pretty rare in the podcast/talk radio world. The humor is generated by riffing on the subject at hand. Which generates the weird and funny non-sequitor memes. The “gothic” thing above was as close to disrespect as I’ve heard and it was extremely mild in comparison to Alexander’s talking loudly over everybody.
I did hear Jeff and Ryan make reference to being a bit hefty recently and it was pretty funny. Someone wrote in and asked why Ryan and Jeff always wear shorts and never pants. I said out loud, “Because they’re fat,” (yeah, I talk to myself in my car) without even thinking about it because in my experience fat dudes are the ones that wear shorts regardless of the temperature. I cracked up when Ryan, after Jeff explained how it’s never very cold in SF and how shorts are comfortable, said something to the effect of, “And really, it’s sort of a fat dude thing to always wear shorts.” Very funny.

I seem to like Giant Bomb more and more, my humor seems to be syncing up with theirs over time so even the pregnant pauses can be quite funny.
I remember that too, and I said the same thing (to myself) but it wasn’t the thin blond guy blurting it out to get some cheap yuks, it was the fat guys eventually owning up. And nobody piled on (like I would have).
Yeah, I see what you’re getting at. And I must say, I appreciate it about the podcast. They’re not looking to burn each other all the time like the ListenUp crew seems to. Or do they all just pile on Garnett? He makes it so damn easy, after all.

I’ve got to say that I haven’t been a particular fan of Giant Bombcast the Podcast, I checked out their E3 coverage, and have liked them much more on video than on “radio.”
I checked out the endurance run of Persona 4, and I’m now on episode8 or 9 and they still haven’t done much more than press X to continue, but it’s pretty funny stuff.
So I guess they’re growing on me.
On the other hand just listened to two episodes of “Out of the Game.” The first one Shawn Elliot wanted them all to read a book about decision making and podcast about it. Half of them didn’t read it, and Luke in particular just doesn’t seem interested in saying anything unless specifically asked to comment. N’Gai actually got into it, but the rest of them seemed like they were people who didn’t do their homework and were trying to get through the book club without embarrassing themselves too much.
The second episode was missing Elliot and Robert Ashley, and the tone just seemed so much lighter. Everybody talked, they were riffing on Star Wars, and it was a generally good conversation that didn’t seem forced. They’re still trying to figure out the dynamic on that one.
You can’t really blame them for that. Even so, Persona 4 is a great game for an endurance run. If it was something with less hilariously awkward talking, there’d be less for them to riff on.
I looooooove them balls!

I don’t blame them. I think it’s amazing that they’re about 2 hours into the game and they haven’t actually played the game.
Damn, I didn’t know Phonogram was selling THAT badly.

So how are the E3 podcasts from this week? I’m looking at several from both 1up and GiantBomb, and am having trouble deciding to listen to any of them. (Doesn’t help that I have a really good audiobook as an alternative).
I did start listening to the wrap up Listen Up, and it seemed OK… I’m just not sure if it’s worth my time to go back to the daily ones.
Also, am I the only one ridiculously tired of David Ellis judging every single thing on graphics? I’m really starting to loathe that guy. It doesn’t help that these podcasts appear to be John Davison free.
