It’s the opposite - rather than getting stuck on weird platforms, devs don’t want people abusing the level design to skip stuff by jumping across level geometry they’re not intended to get onto at all.
It wouldn’t be a problem if devs stopped insisting on including platforming elements in games that aren’t based specifically around platforming, but that’s never going to happen. Everyone expects jumping now, so everything has it, even if it’s a canned animation triggered by a context-sensitive button.
