There’s a whole forum dedicated to her here

So in order to get a stash, do I have to buy the crappy arena DLC?

Yeah, and it doesn’t integrate into the rest of the game. So if you want to put something in/get something out you have to travel to moxxi’s.

I regret buying Moxxi’s. The other 2 DLC’s are great.

I bought it for the stash with some leftover points. One day I might actually get the last two achievements in there but, meh, many other games to play first! The worst part came after I finished Knoxx. I went back to the stash and realized I was never going to use anything in there ever again. Now with armory runs available any old time I please, and lacking the need or desire to pimp out new characters, it was a bit of a waste. It’s all about the backpack upgrades, really.

Man I’m really loving this game. Popping guys with my sniper rifle (with exploding property) never gets old. Or watching those damn Alpha Skags die when my corrosive enhanced bloodwing eats their face. Good times.

I played for about an hour last night and really enjoyed my time. I had a really gimp level 10 hunter that I played around with, and generally didn’t enjoy, but then I went back to my level…18? Siren, and starting having a really good time. She has an explosive pistol that blows up Alpha’s in like two headshots, and I am still using that awesome Bone Shredder SMG I got like 8 levels ago! She also has a sniper rifle that should be awesome but I can’t use it for 4 more levels!

Anyways, I had pretty much forgotten where I was and what I was doing, but I don’t recall the story being too involved. So I dove back in and likely will be playing this slowly slowly, as a break to the new games I am all involved in. I think I am going to really like it this time around for some reason (don’t know why it didn’t click the first time around) because it seems like an ideal play for 30 minutes type of game, and with a baby on the way…

Thanks to the link to the Lilith discussion Tman. Is there a way to purchase a respec? Please say yes.

Yup, just go to a New U station and you should see the option there… it costs a bit of money, but it’s really pretty cheap.

I found the hunter really difficult until level 15 when the revolvers started showing up. Even using SMG’s and shotguns my hunter got into trouble far more than my soldier. But the revolvers gave me real nice mid-range firepower to keep the critters from getting close. I also worked on using shotguns for the real close encounters and I think having a higher skill really seems to help.

Yes, the new U station is where to do it, but IMO, it’s not intuitive. There is a symbol at the top I believe that looks like a small card with writing on it. Click on that and on the subsequent screen there is a button for purchasing a reset.

I respec frequently trying out different modes. FYI - it’s typically better to fill in one of the areas than peanut butter the skill points on all 3 areas.

Thanks guys! I have been reading on the forums Tman sent me and think I found a couple build ideas I want to go with. In terms of early builds (like, up till level 25 lets say), would the healing/shield/phasewalk skill points or the critical hit, rate of fire, bullet damage type points be more useful? Just situationally in terms of what the game throws at you.

Yeah thanks for the info! I had no idea there was a respec option.

If you’re playing correctly, it’s pretty difficult to die as a Siren outside of enclosed boss battles. If things go south, you just phasewalk away, heal, and the re-approach the combat. While there are skills designed to use phasewalk offensively, I think that’s throwing away your safety skill for a little more DPS.

It follows that the skills that heal / shield you after a phasewalk, while not important for regular combats, are a big help for enclosed boss battles where you can’t run.

Has there been any more news about the DRM being pulled off the older DLC? I would really like to snag Dr. Ned at that $3-ish sale price, but I’m really reluctant to fuck my Borderlands install with activation-limit SecuROM. (I would be willing to do it if they’d confirmed that it will be going away, but otherwise…ehhhh.)

Last I heard Moxxi and Dr. Ned both still have securom but knoxx doesn’t. There was talk about removing them according to the steam thread but I haven’t heard anything new about it.

So is there any interest in some co-op action?

I’d be up for that.

I bought this on Steam, started downloading 3 1/2 hours ago and have only downloaded 1 gig so far. I think Steam is plowed right now.

Ditto. I’ve been trying to download it since about 5:30 central time. I’m halfway there. Connection is all over the place, from 1.3 mb/s to 48 kb/s, with a full stop several times. I think everybody on the planet is trying to download this right now.

Now that it did download (all freaking night!) I played it for 2 hours straight this morning and then bought two of the DLC packs. Holy crap is this game fun!

Weird. Gallant was quite adamant no one would remember Borderlands in six months. You’re all fired.
