Steam’s listing this as 9,268.0 MB of 9,268.0 MB downloaded, but it’s showing up in my “Downloading” list as suspended, and if I click play I get “This game is currently unavailable”. Even weirder that it launched yesterday and doesn’t work today.

Haven’t had this issue before, and all the solutions I could find (Changing download region, deleting clientregistry.blob, deleting winui.gcf, restarting Steam, verifying local game files) haven’t done anything. Driving me nuts.

Yeah, I’m loving it too, got it yesterday and I’m lvl 20 now. I love the shotguns! I’m really glad gearbox decided to go with the new look, it fits so well.

Did someone else get lower than usual framerates at the Headstone mine fro no apparent reason?

MOOOOOOOOOOAR LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!

Did you buy the DLC between yesterday and today? It took awhile for steam to get the DLC all situated for me. I had to restart steam and do the pause download/restart download on Borderlands. But it went through.

I’m totally loving this game also. The guns are very satisfying though I’ve hit the point where I’ve found some really nice ones and after almost 10 levels I have yet to find anything that’s better. Though it can be a bit confusing trying to tell what’s really an upgrade sometimes. When it’s too close to call, I’ll just switch back and forth and see how they feel.

Bought the game itself and Knoxx yesterday.

Bought it yesterday as well though it doesn’t seem to run well at all on my laptop, which while expected somewhat is disappointing. If I would pick up the 360 version at some point is a similar experience? Is something lost in the keyboard to controller switch?

The PC ui is pretty terrible. If you have both and like controllers, no real reason not to go 360 I’d think. But I’m a PC only player so I can’t say what it’s like on the console.

The PC UI is beyond terrible. I’m a bit shocked by it (just bought the game last week).

Man, I forgot what PC games can look like. I’ve got this thing at 2560x1600, max everything, and it’s blowing my mind. It’s painful to play Infamous on my PS3 now…

BUT NECKS TOO LARGE GNARFHJDFL

His neck is so large that it’s not his head that turns, but the world.

I’m sure this is linked earlier in this thread but I found this tweak utility to be indispensible. It allows you to enable vsync, disable the startup movies and many other tweaks.

I didn’t think it would be on sale for $10 in six months. Usually that takes a couple years. This thread has a few gaps between posts, each over a month long-- that should tell you something.

ZING!

Just kidding. While imperfect, I do regard Borderlands with less disdain and hate than the coming of the anti-Christ. In reality, it was pretty damn fun with a couple friends.

P.S. I was able to ignore the giant neck problem and just have fun, maybe it was just me.

No, it wasn’t just you. I still play it with some of my friends because I haven’t played Lilith, Brick or Mordecai to cap.

And I don’t know what he’s talking about. I’ve bought every recent Ubi release for $20 4-6 weeks after release.

I don’t see why gaps in thread use would signal anything. Borderlands is fun, but what would you discuss? It’s a game where you shoot things and get loot. Whee. I suppose thread matchmaking…but the level disparity thing means that’s not going to happen casually.

Borderlands is heaps of fun. The combat is fun, the art direction is terrific and the loot is interesting enough to keep you going. I would still play it, if the Knoxx DLC had not stuffed up the level scaling.

Interesting loot you found in your latest replay? It is a loot game. Well, it’s supposed to be. No interesting high-end loot, apparently. Here’s a quote about the latest DLC: “I did the Armory, and didn’t get much I actually wanted to use.”

Hmm thats strange I read, that the Armory had the best loot in the game :|

review of knoxx:

There’s plenty of good games that don’t get regular updates on threads here. Probably because other games come out that people want to talk about.

As for Borderlands being on sale, I’m sure you were really laying into the quality of Left4Dead during the regular sales for that…

Unfortunately random loot is random. On one run through you’ll get that amazing gun or set of guns, on another you’ll find crap. Just the way these games go. I’m really enjoying it though and can’t wait to try out the other character types.
