I thought Siren powers benefited most from high rate of fire weapons such as SMGs and assault rifles.

Some of them do, like her Daze-on-hit power. But I still like using elemental sniper rifles with my Siren; her higher elemental proc chance means that many more chances to see people burned / dissolved / electrocuted to death - good times! So I certainly look forward to getting a Specter mod for her when I get to Knoxx (still on her first playthru of main campaign). And I hadn’t even thought of Ultrazen’s tactic to help her keep her distance from targets!

So when my hard drive recently died, it took my Borderlands character with it. I don’t really want to replay stuff up to level 50 again, so does anyone know decent character editor so I can cheat back to where I was? I’m playing the PC version, of course.

As the unlucky purchaser of a retail version of Borderlands, is there any hope for me? I want to take advantage of all these Steam sales and whatnot (maybe not right this moment, but often in the past) to purchase the DLC, but it seems I’m out of luck with the retail version. And paying $10 a pop from the Borderlands website is certifiable.

Then again, given the previous steam sales, you might be able to re-buy the base game plus all DLC, and still come out ahead.

Ah, sorry. According to the claptrap DLC page on Steam, it does require the Steam version of Borderlands.

Can anyone offer any insight on how this runs/plays on PS3 in split screen? I remember that split screen in general had some UI issues, but how’s the framerate and such?

I think your best bet will be to wait for a half-off Steam* sale on B-lands GotY, then give or sell your retail copy to someone else. IIRC, there is no CD key with the retail version of the base game, so it shouldn’t be an issue.

*It’s half-off today at D2D, but who wants to use D2D? ;-P

It could be one of your own skills being triggered - do you have anything like that, that triggers when you kill an enemy, or maybe kill an enemy in a certain way?

I had to respec to get rid of the Siren’s Phoenix ability because it was just so visually distracting when I got a kill and it triggered.
