It’ll be interesting to see how this works out, as you may be somewhat gimped unless you find a really high powered +dmg% weapon to compensate.

Holy crap, I just saw this: http://store.steampowered.com/stats/
Borderlands is currently game that the most Steam players are concurrently playing. Crazy! Has a non-Valve game ever been in that position before? Heck, a non-Counter-Strike game??
Well, after my four-pack-group’s second night of mayhem, I have to say that this game is crazy fun in co-op mode.

We did three player co-op on the LAN tonight. Wheeee!
Crazy fun. I love Siren’s phasewalk; got me out of trouble many, many times.
I just got the “electrocute your foes while you phasewalk” skill, and that’s really a lot of fun.

Pfft, don’t even try to pretend that people who play Siren don’t actively seek that trouble in the first place!
Yeah, I pull a lot of aggro. I figure the group can handle it. And if not, then I can always phasewalk the hell out of there. :)
Impressive. Speaking of which, look at Torchlight in that list. That’s pretty amazing itself, but I wonder if that includes the demo as well…

(Damage should say 26x4)
Just bought this from a vendor and even though I’m level 21 I’m pretty awestruck at the sheer damage it can do. It’s basically a shotgun with machinegun clip size and firing rate. Definitely medium range at most and I emptied 500 rounds in less than a minute but it might as well project a cone of death in front of me if I’m being swarmed.

How do you get the tags for the weapons like that?

Wow, the Borderlands juggernaut just keeps rolling. And here I haven’t even played in three nights! WTF is wrong with me? I guess I’m just not a marathoner when it comes to this stuff.
Still, sooner or later I’ll be back in it with you all – I will postpone Torchlight and even Dragon Age in order to get in some more Borderlands.

Just saw the previous post.
What.
The.
FUCK.
The gold weapons are weird. I guess they’re just defined by level and red text effects, because even at level 24 I had greens and blues that outperformed those guns.

The irony of those weapons is that the level 13 gun does the most damage per bullet out of all of those weapons. Hell, it’s almost as good a weapon as the sniper rifle that’s 11 levels above it.
Don’t be so excited just to find “rare” weapons. Orange actually drops like crazy and any green with a +dmg% and +fire rate modifiers can whoop the crap out of orange weapons 5-10 levels above it.
When you see a purple, you can get sort of excited, but without good modifiers like +dmg%, even they can be worthless.
Out of all those I would probably only use the Combustion Hellfire. Not many enemies take less damage from fire effects, so it’s the best all around gun there.
Seriously, the item randomization modifiers do some wacky things in this game.
Now if only I can find out how to link my badass purple combat rifle.
Hmm the red text “Long and Strong” there for that first weapon isn’t on the borderlands wiki. What does it do?

You call those revolvers… THIS is a revolver.

no, that’s a bloody sniper rifle. :D

I thought the flavor text on weapons was supposedly pushing stat modifiers off the tooltip, but the mods are there? Just hidden?
Best. Gun. EVAR:
It’s doing all that as splash damage. You pull the trigger, see something silly like ‘600’ float above the primary target’s head, and then everything around him starts shooting up ‘100’, ‘120’, ‘150’, etc over and over again for something silly like 10-15 seconds.
